Topic : ASUU STRIKE: Does it seems like ASUU is being too headstrong toward their negotiation with FG

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) embarked on indefinite strike on November 5, 2018 over structural revitalisation in the universities, salary shortfall and earned allowances of university
lecturers.
We will recall when President Muhammadu Buhari declared on Sunday Nov 18 2018, that it was impossible to fund education from the budget and that the Federal Government had plans to raise funds from the capital market to fund universities .
He acknowledged that university education was under - funded and that the Academic Staff
Union of Universities was right to go on strike, but he urged institutions to leverage alumni and partnership with the private sector to provide the needed push to the infrastructure of universities .

Again, the meeting held on Monday, 21st of January, 2019 gave so much hope to many students who are affected by the strike after the labour minister Mr Chris Ngige said that Mr President instructed him to make sure all issues regarding the strike are resolved. But unfortunately, the meeting ended without the two parties (ASUU & FG) reaching an agreement or have refused to reach an agreement.
However, as the strike will be 3-months old in 5days time, at least six universities have pulled out of it and opened their doors to students.

Can we say ASUU is really fighting for the students; and not for their pockets ? (judging from their headstrong with FG).
Who can we place much blame of the strike on ? FG or ASUU ?
