Marafa Asks Buhari To Shelve Zamfara Rally, Hails INEC by adebuk17: 12:56am On Feb 01, 2019
The senator representing Zamfara Central, Kabir Marafa, has commended the Independent National Electoral Commission for maintaining its earlier position on the rejection of All Progressives Congress’ candidates from Zamfara State.

Marafa, who is the Chairman, Senate Committee on Petroleum Resources (Downstream), also urged President Muhammadu Buhari to suspend his proposed campaign scheduled to hold in Gusau, the state capital, on Sunday.

The senator, who addressed journalists in Abuja on Thursday, said he would submit a letter to the President urging him to stay away from the presidential campaign already slated for Sunday.

He said, “I urge President Muhammadu Buhari to suspend his proposed campaign to Zamfara State on Sunday. I will personally hand over a letter on the matter to him.

“However, if the President insists on going for the rally in Zamfara on Sunday, there is no problem. Let (Governor Abdulaziz) Yari hold his rally on Sunday, we will organise our own later and people will see who the people are supporting.

“We don’t care if the President attends our own rally later or not. We will organise a mega rally that will be given live coverage so that the whole world will see that we are very popular among our people.”

Marafa, who is also a governorship aspirant of the APC in the state, said INEC had done the right thing by maintaining its position on the issue of APC primaries in Zamfafa State.

He said, “This shows that the commission is not doing the bidding of any of the parties involved in our intra-party squabble. From the beginning, the commission took a weighty but truthful position on the Zamfara APC primaries logjam, despite the fact that our party is the ruling political party.

“The development has shown that the commission will conduct credible, fair and transparent polls. We are urging the commission to always stand by the truth, no matter who is involved.”

Marafa also expressed the hope that APC can still field candidates in the state if his prayers before the Appeal Court in Sokoto are granted.

“We are very optimistic that a fresh window to conduct primaries opposed by the Governor Abdulaziz Yari’s faction will by God’s grace be granted by the Appeal Court,” he added.

A Zamfara State High Court presided over by Justice Muhammad Shinkafi had last week Friday in Gusau, delivered a judgement which asked INEC to allow APC candidates to participate in the election.

Same day, a Federal High Court presided over by Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu in Abuja held that the electoral body acted within its powers to reject the list of candidates presented to it by the party.

However, INEC, according to a statement by its National Commissioner in charge of Information and Voter Education, Mr Festus Okoye, on Wednesday, decided to maintain its earlier position on the matter.

Neither Obasanjo not Jonathan ignored corruption like this. Obasanjo removed Alamieseigha and Jonathan did same to Timipriye Silva. Balogun, a serving IGP was arrested like a common criminal. Bankole, an immediate past speaker was prosecuted by an EFCC that hired Keyamo.

None of those people and more under PDP were as corrupt or had as clear an evidence against them as Ganduje, who was videotaped taking 5 million in bribe money and witnesses and companies testifying to same.

And see Buhari here, dressed in the same uniform as the corrupt Ganduje. See him asking the people to revote Ganduje into office just so Buhari can be reelected.

Ganduje the CORRUPT is one of Buhari's main campaign sponsors.

And yes stolen wealth, and corrupt politicians are Buhari's BACKbone

But he is not corrupt

Only everybody around him including his wife Aisha, his Amaechi, Tinubu, Ganduje, Abba Kyari etc that are.

A man who could serve under Abacha and witnessed all Abacha's stealing and agreed to be part of that rape of our treasury "is not corrupt"

Serve with Abacha and then give speeches in honour of Abacha and then say "Abacha did not steal a kobo"

And here, before our eyes, we see Buhari defend GANDUJE but "Buhari is not corrupt"

Years later, revisionists will tell us that Buhari never backed Ganduje and we who document these things for posterity are liars

Just like the 2.8 billion missing from NNPC in 1978 when Buhari was NNPC MD. "Buhari is not corrupt"

I am the one who served under ABACHA and ran PTF that was the conduit for stealing money as plead to in court by both Mustapha and Sergeant Rogers.

"Buhari is not corrupt"

It is your FADA that is corrupt

Mumu.
