Iwaro Oka, Ondo State – A deadly attack on Hon. Arogundade Segun, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Mobilisation, has left him seriously injured and fearing for his life. The incident occurred on Friday, December 6, 2024, when a group of individuals allegedly led by Mr. Kolade Okoli, from Oka Odo Quarters in Iwaro Oka, launched a brutal assault against him.

According to Hon. Segun, he was attacked by Kolade Okoli, Elegbeleye Jimoh, Ologundudu Tosin, and Oguntolu (Energy), under the direct supervision of Dele Asamo and Mr. Cyril Aye. During the attack, Hon. Segun was stabbed multiple times, including a severe blow to the head. The attackers, believing they had killed him, left him bleeding on the ground. It was only after Dele Asamo and Cyril Aye confirmed that he appeared lifeless that the group stopped their assault.

Hon. Segun was rushed to the Federal Medical Center (FMC) in Iwaro Oka, where the medical team worked tirelessly to resuscitate him. Due to the severity of his injuries, which included extensive blood loss from multiple stabbings, he was transferred to FMC Owo for further treatment. The medical personnel at Iwaro Oka were unable to manage the complications from the life-threatening wounds.

In a disturbing twist, it was reported that the attackers attempted to track Hon. Segun to FMC Owo, and additional threats have been made against him. The victim claims that the assailants are determined to finish what they started, despite the fact that he survived the initial assault.

Prior to his transfer to FMC Owo, Hon. Segun had filed a report with the Iwara Division Police Station, where officers accompanied him to the hospital to document his injuries. The police also captured video footage of his condition. However, despite these efforts, Hon. Segun has raised concerns about the lack of police action, as the attackers have continued to threaten him, claiming that they will still target him and other political figures.

Additionally, Hon. Segun disclosed that he received a threatening phone call from Dele Asamo while in the hospital.
