In 1986, IBB set up a Political Bureau that was mandated to organise debates and collate information on the most appropriate and generally acceptable form of political and economic system that would ensure development and growth in the country.

The report of the bureau revealed that most Nigerians wanted a socialist arrangement.

IBB, however, rejected the report, a move that was clearly made to keep 'class interest' above the burning desire of the masses.

In 2019, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi are moving about, singing disjointed verses of crammed statistics from the Internet without any input whatsoever from the common Nigerians.

Like IBB, it seems to me that their aim is simply to protect the interest of few of their wealthy colleagues whose economic mainstays largely revolve around the corridors of politics.

Make no mistake about it, an Atiku/Obi presidency is a one-way ticket to the cold island of 'crony capitalism'.
