Some time back, there was a story about Tonto Dike parading naked at a party. The sttory has it that Tonto, together with other Nollywood stars, attended a party. Tonto got drunk and took off her clothes, so the story goes. And this is what hogged the headlines. But what was really in the story did not attract much attention, and it is this area that I wish to address myself to.

The story goes that the organizer of the party had colluded with some Nollywood producers to have the party, for the sole purpose of getting the Nollywood ladies get drunk so that the organizer, and maybe the producers, would have their way with the ladies without much resistance. The story has it that the producers had actually colluded with the prty organizers on this. And Tonto got drunk, just as planned.

It is indicated that Ini Edo left early when she realised she was getting drunk. There is no proof that the organizer had forced sex with Tonto, but that she took off her clothes was widely covered. In my opinion, the fact that Nollywood producers would go to the extent of colluding with some one to get a group of girls drunk so that he can have sex with them is sick. How could producers stoop so low as to do such a thing?

How many parties have these producers sent the girls to, just to satisfy the perverted sexual tastes of some dirty old men? This is rape, plain and simple. The girls would not be in a psition to resist. And their drinks may also be spiked.

It is not a secret that some producers demand sex before they can give roles to girls. And quite a few girls have succumbed. This is wrong. Unfotunately, the whole entertainment industry, not just in Nollywood, or Nigeria, is full of sex perverts. In ghana, Yvonne Nelson complained that a producer demanded sex before he could give her a role in a movie. This is a big shame, and a blight to the Producers.

Girls need to be protected from those in power, those in position to make decision. The girls are not se objects, They are human beings

That also includes young girls who take part in beauty contests. They should not have sex with the organizers in order to win, and not just Noigeria, but Kenya, Uganda, Ghana etc
