IT was celebration galore today(05/02/19) as Delta State Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa commissioned road projects in Aniocha North and South local government areas of the state.

The Governor who commissioned the Idumuje-Unor/Idumuje-Ugboko road and Uzougba link road to Issele-Uku/Otulu road, Ubulu-Okiti respectively, thanked Deltans for appreciating the success stories of his administration.

Venues for the commissioning of the projects were almost turned to campaign grounds as Deltans in their large numbers came out to appreciate the governor for delivering on electoral promises.

According to him, "I am excited that our people, Deltans are happy with the projects we have executed; it is a thing of joy that through effective partnership you have created the enabling environment for us to meet with the requests you made during the townhall meetings."
"We are paying a lot of attention to road construction; all over the state, our people are testifying that we have done very well, but, there are still many more roads to be constructed; the more we construct roads, the more the demands for more roads," he said, assuring, "we will continue to do more road so that we will continue to get more demands because, road infrastructure is very important for the socio-economic development of our people, our state."

With few days to elections and the chanting of "Okowa till 2023, Okowa Again, Okowa the Road Master," among others, the governor responded by telling the people to mobilise all eligible voters to cast their votes for the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) saying, "because our people are happy with us, we believe that God is happy with us and because God is happy with us, we are confident of victory at the polls."
"We will continue to run a government that is people-oriented; I also believe that in this election that equity is something that you cannot do away with; the right of the people of Delta North to aspire for second term cannot be thrown away, if as one family, a united family in Delta State, with equity, and tolerance, we become a stronger family; it is our civic duty to vote and with your votes, you would have honoured the people of Delta North and stick to the zoning of political offices," Governor Okowa stated at the occasions which had an array of traditional rulers in attendance.
