Auto Dealers would understand this and so this might not be worth your time. But for prospective individual car owners/users looking to purchase cars through US used Auto Auctions like www.autoauctionmall.com, do take the time to read.

RORO - An acronym for "Roll on, Roll off" is a shipping term used to describe the process of shipping cars, new or used without putting them in 20 or 40 foot container simply by driving them on the ship when loading at the port of origin and driving them off the ship when offloading at the destination port. This is more common with "run and drive" cars, that is cars that can start and move under their own power. SOmetimes, a car that is jump started can be RoRo-able too.
Why RORO? It is cheaper (at least $300 cheaper than containerized), it is easier and faster to clear(3 - 4 days depending on server and if your agent knows what he's doing) and if you're shipping through Grimaldi lines, the safest (those guys wont allow you near the car till it is fully cleared talkless open it!)
Limitations: You can't load other products into the vehicle, Your car might be exposed to the elements at sea (but in most cases the cars are usually parked below deck though)

Containerized - This is used to describe shipping cars in 20 or 40 foot container together with two or more other cars but at a maximum of 4 cars. It is the more expensive option.
Why Containerized? It is safer, you can consolidate ie buy other stuff and load in the car (for the business savvy), It is also safe depending on the shipping line. It is a better option if you are buying two or more cars at the same time.
Limitations: It takes longer to clear, If you own just one car, you are at the mercy of the primary consignee as any amount you are asked to pay to clear, you must pay if you want you car.

We usually advice that if you are purchasing one car alone from www.autoauctionmall.com, try to buy run and drive so it is RORO-able. And be sure to confirm that your vehicle will be shipped from a RORO port preferably through Grimaldi lines.
Many dubious agents of the primary consignee of a containerized car shipment sometimes give outrageous bills to a car owner with only one car in the container. SO be warned.

But before all of this, you need to buy the car first right? So why not head on to www.autoauctionmall.com and let us assist you purchase your dream car for a fraction of the retail price from dealer only and private auctions in North America?
You can also talk to our Nigerian rep as well. He will guide you and answer any questions you might have so you fully understand all aspects.

Please kindly give more details on why is better to use container when buying more than one car , probably two cars and above , apart from Agent issues , IS IT CHEAPER TO SEND OR CLEAR TWO CARS FROM CONTAINER.

The main advantage is having your cars together securely in one sealed container plus in most cases it is cheaper since you will be sharing the cost of the ocean freight, customs clearance and port charges with other individuals. Except in cases where your consigment is filling up the entire 20 or 40ft container.

Also, one common thing agents or primary consignees(people who have about 2 cars in a container) do is that for people who own just one car in the container, they bill them outrageous amounts as clearing cost, deflecting some of their costs on the unlucky person and the owner of the single car has to pay. This is not nice but it is what it is.

Also, unlike RORO you can actually buy spare parts or other non contrabrand products and put in your car when shipping via container allowing you to do brisk business save and earn the clearing money back unlike if you were shipping in those parts alone.

SUmmarily, it is cheaper, safer, if you're shipping more than one car
