The people of Ore in Odigbo Local Government area of Ondo State have described the on-going first ever flyover bridge project in the area capable of enhancing economic turnaround of the Southern Senatorial District when completed.

A community leader, Chief Michael Olanrewaju while commending the Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, over the payment of compensation to the affected people said the project is long overdue.

He said the flyover bridge will boost the economic status of the commercial town when completed and also reduce the incessant road accidents at the spot.

“The governor has given the people a lease of life after their properties were demolished to give room for the flyover through adequate payment of compensation to encourage them to start up again, it is a welcome development.

“Since the flag-off of the project, work has started and is ongoing and I am very sure that people are happy with the project”.

Olanrewaju said the project will improve the economic development of Ore community and its environs urging the government to do everything possible to complete the flyover on time.

Also, Mr. Taye Bamidele said, “I am very sure that when the project is completed, it will improve and open up the economic strength of Ore. Ore remain the economic hub of Ondo State.

He said the residents are excited seeing contractor on the road, which is highly prone to ghastly motor accidents almost on weekly basis.

“Here in Ore, our main challenge is this portion of the road. A week can hardly go by without an accident occurring, hence the reason for our excitement in February when the Governor came to flag off the flyover project.

“So we appeal to the government to speed up the project and it should not entertain any delay.

The Hope reports that Ondo State Government has also rehabilitated the 500m old Lagos-Benin expressway and Ore township road from Mobil junction to Sabo junction.
