In 1999, Former President Obasanjo lost in the SW, divided NW and emerged strongly in the Middle Belt States, SS and SE to become President.

In 2011, President Goodluck Jonathan lost in NW and NE but won in NC, SW, SS, and SE.

In 2015, the main reason Buhari defeated former President Jonathan was because GEJ lost in Benue, Plateau, Kogi, Kwara, Niger, and another part of the Middle Belt States.

As at today, monetary inducement will fail and has proved to be less effective when a candidate is not favorite in Nigeria. It will take sophisticated manipulation or forceful declaration by INEC for President Buhari to win those critical Middle Belt States.

In 2011, Jonathan got 1.8M votes from Rivers and considering that the voting population of Rivers is half of Kano, no body made noise because it was cool for PDP to just write result for INEC

My own take is the election will be won state by state, all PDP states will be won by Atiku and All APC states including FCT will be won by Buhari. No governor is willing to lose power to opposition this time around, it won’t be like the 2015 general elections. APC will never make the mistakes Jonathan made in 2015. I won’t everyone reading this to mark my word. Though, it may be tough, a lot of rigging is going to happen but APC will win their states and PDP will win their states
