Recent Reforms
The Government recently introduced reforms aimed at making company registration easier and these include:

-It now takes 48 hours to register a business entity in Nigeria from when the application form is completed and all required documents available
-It is now possible to conduct an online search on Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) portal.
-The new regulations made it optional for applicants to hire lawyers to prepare registration documents.
-The new regulations introduced single incorporation form (CAC 1.1) to save time and reduce costs.
-You can now submit completed business registration documents on the portal and physical submission no longer allowed.
-The Corporate Affairs Portal has now integrated the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) e-payment solution to enable e-stamping.

Requirements for Registering a Business Name

Availability and Reservation of Name (Provide us with 2 preferred names)
Submit the duly completed statutory forms with two passport sized photographs of each applicant attached to the form
Pay filing fees at the Corporate Affairs Commission

Requirements for Incorporating a Limited Liability Company

Availability and Reservation of Name (Provide us with 2 preferred names)
Payment of appropriate Stamp Duty to Federal Board of Inland Revenue
Submission of Memorandum and Articles of Association together with statutory forms for verification and assessment
Payment of filing fees at the Corporate Affairs Commission.
