[s]Multiplier effect of corruption

1. A young man works for one of the state ministries. His salary is 120K. He makes 15,000 everyday on this desk (N75k a week) engaging in corrupt practices. As a result, he spends the daily cash as he cares. Living large and far above his legitimate income.

2. He visits the local joint every evening and buys drinks for friends, and area boys. They hail him. He is married, but has two girlfriends. His "income" is enough to take care of them. The Asun seller at his favorite joint is happy, the joint owner is happy.

3. Everyone was benefiting from his "income". Friends, family, area boys, joint owner, Asun seller, girlfriends, wife and his church. Life was good.

4. Then suddenly the ministry implemented the Treasury Single Account (TSA) at the beginning of PMB administration. His extra "income" disappeared and he had to adjust to the reality of event and live within his real income. That wasn't easy.

5. Initially he reduced his daily visit to the joint to 3 days a week and stopped buying drinks for everyone. He reduced he plates of Asun. The Asun seller started to find it hard to sell a full goat each day and resorted to buy half.

6. The young man's girlfriends started to feel the heat too. No more iPhone 10. The joint owner noticed a drop in sales. The young man finally stopped visiting the joint after a month. The area boys started feeling his absence. The effect cascaded down.

7. The young man started spending more time at home with his wife and kids. The family had to readjust to the reality of the new normal. His hair stylist noticed the young man suddenly stopped tipping. He will even wait for his N200 change after haircut.

8. Things are different. Times are hard, they all cry. The young man is blaming Buhari, his wife is blaming Buhari, the area boys are blaming Buhari, the girlfriends are saying Buhari must go, the joint owner is saying Buhari killed the "economy"

9. The Asun seller is cursing Buhari, the hair stylist is insisting Buhari is too old to rule. This is the story of our nation where corruption fuels the "economy". Those who are not engaging in it are benefiting from it.

10. This tread is not about Buhari's achievement or failure, but rather about the "multiplier" effect of corruption and how we have built a system largely driven by corruption. It's about policy implication (good or bad). It's about the choices we have made.

Finally, the young man had to withdraw his kids from what he called expensive primary school his kids attend. He added:"what are they teaching them there sef " Obasanjo didn't go to a private school. I just laughed

My Take:
Most of the so called rich men and women in Nigeria before now were feeding fat on the populace, imaging a level 15 officer in a state ministry sponsoring two of his/her children's education in Europe but when TSA came to effect, free money dried up but Buhari was blamed for the inability to fund children in Europe! Awon ole jati -jati, ofan a je l'oju onile.[/s]

Barely 24 Hours after President Buhari's visit, Petrol tankers, trucks, heavy duty vehicles, return to Lagos bridge.

A Lagosian who shared the video, was really perturbed on the reappearance of the heavy duty trucks on the bridge.

Watch the video here and see reactions below

Both APC, Lagos state government and the trailer drivers should hide their faces in shame. Who are they deceiving? The president knows the situation of the road. Everyday one story or the other from the APC. Who can point to one single infrastructure project proposed and executed by the APC led government since we all massively and erronously voted in their favour in 2015?

Maybe that explains how Buhari with 150 gay cows can train all his children abroad, and even gift one a powerbike on which he nearly killed himself. Just maybe. If we call you zombie now, you will think it is insult, not knowing it's your perfect description.

Why are people twisting reality.
Government never said they have provided solution to the truck issue on the road, but said they would not allow trucks to come into Lagos as from Thursday and those within Lagos already would be moved off the road to avoid traffic jam in Lagos on Saturday due to expected upsurge in both motorists and vehicular movement as result of president visitation

Awon ole jati -jati, ofan a je l'oju onile.

So just how did Mr. President educate four of his kids to college degrees in the United Kingdom being a career civil servant all his life. The answer to this is why a lot of folks resist and the reason why he is unlikely to succeed in changing anythjng after he is done, just as in 1983-85.

Multiplier effect of corruption

I just laughed

yea I greed with you, the multipler effect of corruption was also the reasons they increased pump price of pms, electric bill, skyrocketed price of good and services, devaluation of Naira and its weak exchange rate and above all the mass killings of Fulani herdsmen which breeds across states. It was also the reason they couldn't fulfil their bogus promises during 2015election... Just continue!

But that is what people are saying.... that to conceal reality while pretending is hypocrisy or do we relocate the Presidency back to Lagos to find a permanent solution.?...

Nigeria where a president who prides himself as a man of integrity would lift the hand of a confirmed thief in campaign rally and yet some youths who do not know their left from right would still sing his praise... not Nigeria where a group such as MURIC, under a supposed professor, would spend quality time and energy writing about why Friday should be declared a public holiday for Muslims ‘since Saturday was declared for The Seventh Day Adventists and Sunday for Catholics and other Christians’ but refuse to speak out against the untold acts of violence, persecution and killings of Christians and minorities in some place in the north...

TSA was not introduced by the Buhari govt but by the Government of Jonathan. It's mischievous of you to indirectly imply it is one tthe achievements of Buhari.

Now I believe that it is true Buhari's govt go about claiming the achievements of the Jonathan administration. Are you telling us that Buhari haven't done anything apart from sharing unhealthy looking food to public school kids, employing 500,000 people on N30k monthly empower project, and N10k trader Moni handouts to traders?

That is too poor a performance.
