Elder statesman and Ijaw leader, Chief Edwin Clark, has stated that President Muhammadu Buhari has done nothing for the people of the Niger Delta.
Clark, who was a guest on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, said the South-south geopolitical zone has been marginalized for too long.
He said, “President Muhammadu Buhari has done nothing for the Niger Delta. Rather, they are taking everything from us. No appointments, no developments.
“We in the Niger Delta produce the resources that feed this country, but we are not participants. We are neglected, dehumanised, marginalised.
“Instead of moving forward, we are moving backward.”
He insisted that restructuring is the only solution to Nigeria’s survival and development, hence the endorsement of a candidate that believes in the ideology.
Chief Clark said the about 17 presidential candidates were spoken to before the decision was taken, he said they were all questioned about their position on the issue of restructuring and Atiku Abubakar’s take on the matter sufficed.
He disclosed that even President Muhammadu Buhari had been questioned on the same issue but says he (Buhari) does not believe in the idea of restructuring.
“Buhari said he does not believe in restructuring,” Clark said.

LAGOS NOVEMBER 25TH (URHOBOTODAY)-The federal government has announced plans to recruit over 1000 workers for the Warri-Itakpe standard gauge rail corridor.
Mr Fidet Okhiria, the Managing Director, Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Lagos.
Okhiria said the completion of the rail project will require additional staff, hence the government will train and employ new 1000 staff.
“Warri-Itakpe standard gauge rail corridor is about 320km, about 12 stations and we have to employ people that will maintain the tracks, people that will work in the stations and sell tickets.
“Also, technicians that will examine the train. So, we are going to engage close to over 1000 to maintain about 320km track, both junior and senior.
“New employees can’t just be sent there; they must be trained.
“In order for them to be trained, we will be moving people from the existing staff, but we have to replace them. So we have to fill up those position before the new people will be trained and certify to be part of the train operations,” he said.
NAN reports that NRC operates a one-year training programme for graduate staff and three months for the junior staff.
According to Okhiria, the 12 stations for the train service are still under construction, adding that temporary stations would be used pending completion.
He, however, assured that the stations would be completed by the first quarter of 2019, noting that some of the houses at the railway village were renovated recently for workers.
Okhiria noted that a lot has been achieved, especially in the rail system under the current administration, with the purchase of more rolling stock and wagons.

Dirty old crooked and corrupt old man, you sat there for 30 years while your looting and stealing PDP clowns abandoned Warri Itakpe rail right there under your nose in your backyard, you did not say a word because they fed you your own share of the National loot, but 30 years later, the same Bahari you just lied on revived completed the project in less than 3 years and on top of that, they are going to employ your own youths, 1000 of them.

Of what use and relevance is a clown like this to any community on the surface of the earth?
