The announcement by the Independent National Election Commission to prospomed the election by one week has jolt to a Holt day to day activities and even commerce in most parts of Nigeria. What ever there reasons, it is fair to say we expected more from them, giving that they'd one job--to conduct elections and four years to do so.
It is true that this is not the first time elections will be postponed in Nigeria. In fact the last election season witnessed a postponement by about six weeks. However, postponement on election's day says more than put in words. This should be avoided in the future through earlier and adequate preparations.
Let's be patient but vigilant against interference and threat to our electoral processes.
