2 persons were reportedly killed in the early hours of Saturday, the 16th of February 2019, while 13 vehicles destroyed in a pre-election crisis in the Nto Edino in Obot-Akara Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. The buses were said to have been hired by the INEC to help covey the 2019 election materials to various Polling units within the LGA. It was learnt that the affected persons died during a gun duel between some hoodlums and security personnel on election duties at Nto Edino, the headquarters of Obot-Akara, during the distribution of sensitive materials for the shifted presidential and National Assembly elections.
