Divine nature is the nature of God.... These are justice, love, mercy, faithfulness and Holiness.

Man had this divine nature in the garden of Eden. When he fell to sin, he drifted away from that nature and was buried deep into the sinful nature...

2 Peter 1 verse 3-4 mentioned how to escape the sinful nature and go back to the divine nature...

I will not quote it but will expand the content.

1. You need to know God and his son Jesus ON A PERSONAL LEVEL.

2. Believe in his promises

3.Then by these, you will be partaker of his divine nature

Let's say there are two people standing.... One is divine nature and the other the sinful nature.

I, standing in the middle of these people will either go to One Direction and increase my distance away from the other.

If I go close to the divine nature, I go away from the sinful nature... And vice versa.

My drifting away from the sinful nature and getting closer to the divine nature depends on my knowledge of God.

How much of God do you know? How much of Jesus saying do you practice?

If you go closer to the divine nature, you benefit in Holiness, Love and Power which are some of the divine nature....

Imagine you being a partaker of the power of the ALMIGHTY?

No wonder Joshua could stop the universe from functioning for hours. He was there when Moses was meeting with God...

At some point, he refused to leave the tent of meeting where God dwelled.

The more you go closer to the sinful nature of man, the more powerless you become...

You want power? Know God .

God bless you.

There are steps to take from the side of sinful nature to the side of divine nature.

Apostle Peter told us in verse 5 of the same book.

From faith,..... To..... Goodness....... Then...... To..... Knowledge..... Then..... To.... Temperance...... Then to....... Patience..... Then....... To godliness...... Then to..... Kindness....... Then to...... LOVE

You continue to move towards the divine nature as you take these steps.

....and finally......

You have all the attributes of the divine.

The divine nature is God's eternal life which is God Himself. We can only receive this nature when we believe in Jesus Christ the Son of God. The Holy Spirit of God who has the divine nature regenerates our dead spirit when we receive this nature, that is what is meant by being born again. After regeneration, our consciousness of God (conscience), fellowship with God (communion) and intuition are revitalized.

The sinful nature is human and any other thing that is devoid of God (including our self-desire and self-righteousness), even though they may not be bad from our perspective.

Adam did not have this divine nature because it was in the tree of life. Adam chose to receive the sinful nature by eating from the tree of knowledge of good and bad. When Adam fell, his spirit became dead to God and he could only live by the sinful (human) nature. Every man born of Adam since then have inherited this nature and humans continually became farther from their Source. Man has since from the beginning tried different means of connecting back to his Creator especially through animal sacrifices and religion but not succeeded.

God in His infinite mercy, reached down to earth to reconnect humanity back to Himself by coming down in human form to make the once and for all sacrifice in the person of Jesus Christ so that any human who believes in Him would not perish - would not have to continue in spiritual and eternal death (separation from God), but have eternal life which is the divine nature (John 3:16).

Receiving Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour is the only way to have this eternal life of God. After receiving this divine nature in the person of the Holy Spirit (mingles with your spirit to give life to it), then you can start living by the power of the Holy Spirit and no more by the power of the flesh (your human/sinful nature).

These are the fruits of the Holy Spirit, they aren't steps or what you can perform by YOURSELF. When you have the Holy Spirit and you allow Him to work His life through you by OBEYING HIM continually, then these fruits will grow out in your life effortlessly.

Did you notice that it starts From faith?

Faith is the basis as you "add to faith "

Faith in Jesus, faith in his word, and then you receive the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit, and the conscious effort of the believer helps him to add those things.

(2 Peter 1 )
------------
5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;

6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;

7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.

" For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ."

(2 Peter 1: 5 to 8.

these are steps for spiritual growth and productivity
Christians are to grow in grace and in the knowledge of Jesus Christ in increasing way so as not to be unproductive and also fall.

1 Peter 2:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

2 Peter 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

2 Peter 1:10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

2 Peter 3:17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.

so every believer has a duty to guard against falling from steadfastness in christ.

I love power and everyone does. However, anyone who wants the power of the almighty will move away from the sinful nature so that he can partake in the divine nature of God.
