The Kwara State Government said it uncovered a plot to blackmail the State Governor, Bukola Saraki through forged documents and computer manipulated photograph.

According to a statement signed by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Alhaji Mas’ud Adebimpe, the government noted that the plot which might have been sponsored by agents of destabilization who were yet to be identified was uncovered when a lady suspected to be the executor of the plot escaped from Kwara Lodge before she could unleash her dastard act.

The statement stated that the 28- year-old lady who was identified through her national identity card had escaped from the Lodge leaving behind her Honda Civic maroon colour car and her mobile phone.
The lady who was dressed in black Jalbab with black veil had stormed Kwara Lodge about 4.30pm, on Tuesday with some fake documents she intended to use in blackmailing the state governor.

“She had in the process demanded for huge sum of money in exchange for her classified fake document. However, sensing danger, the fraudster quickly took to her heels under the pretence that she was going for a mechanic who would repair her car that suddenly developed some mechanical faults,” the statement added.

It explained that “when the case was reported to the State Security Services Command in Abuja, the abandoned Honda Civic Car was recovered along with various items ostensibly used to defraud unsuspecting public.
“The items recovered according to the State Services from the vehicle include an Apple phone containing names and contacts addresses of prominent Nigerians, pornographic movies, personal cheque books and passbooks carrying different names.

Other recovered items are clothes in a big ( Ghana must go bag), shoes, bags, printing materials and computer manipulated pictures among others.” The State Government, however, appealed to security agents investigating the case to expedite action and ensure the culprit was apprehended.
