Eighth Lawmaker Leaves UK Labour Party over Brexit, Anti-Semitism

An eighth Labour MP quit the party on Wednesday in protest against leader Jeremy Corbyn, joining a mounting rebellion sparked by rows over anti-Semitism and Brexit.

Joan Ryan told BBC radio that Corbyn had “introduced or allowed to happen in our party this scourge of anti-Semitism. It has completely infected the party”.

“The other huge problem is that I think Jeremy Corbyn is aiding and abetting a hard Brexit,” she said.

Amosun Loyalists Disrupt TraderMoni Disbursement in Ogun

Pandemonium broke out on Tuesday in Abeokuta, Ogun State, when some men, suspected to be loyalists of Governor Ibikunle Amosun, invaded Lafenwa Market, venue of the disbursement of TraderMoni and disrupted the programme.

The men, led by the Chairman, Abeokuta North-West Local Council Development Area, Monsuru Shorunke, also took away the Iyaloja of the market, Mrs Ramotalai Olatunji, but returned her few minutes later.

TraderMoni is a Federal Government intervention programme for petty traders under the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme.

Polls Shift: FG Reads Riot Act to INEC

The federal government of Nigeria has once again read the riot act to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and warned the electoral body against postponing the election again.

The riot act was read by President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday, February 20, 2019.

The minister of foreign affairs, Mathew Onyeama, said the government demands 100% assurance from the commission that the Presidential and the National Assembly elections scheduled for February 23, 2019 is sacrosanct.

Election: CSO Cautions Politicians Against Ploy to Intimidate INEC Commissioners

A Civil Society Group has cautioned the All Progressives Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party against the ploy to intimidate INEC commissioners ahead of the election.

The group gave this directive in Abuja on Wednesday through its Executive Director, Mr. Frank Tietie who doubles as a human right lawyer.

This was in reaction to a statement by the APC national chairman who alleged that there was a partnership between INEC RECs and PDP.

Uganda’s Ruling Party Endorses 74-year-old Museveni for Sixth Term

Uganda’s ruling party, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) has endorsed President Yoweri Museveni, 74, for a potential sixth term in office.

NRM on Wednesday resolved to present Museveni as its candidate in the 2021 elections so that he can “continue leading the movement and the state in 2021 and beyond to eliminate bottlenecks to transformation.”

The resolution was adopted at a retreat for top party officials chaired by Museveni.

Why are the Jews inviting themselves to a sovereign debate of a country that is not a Jewish state?
You guys declared Israel a Jewish state excluding
any diversity thereof. So why are you infringing on other countries rights to decide what they want to be?

They should go! None of them said a word when their beloved Israel banned Arabic or shot Palestinians. Bloody hypocrites!
