WHAT 2019 PRESIDENTIAL POLL IS ALL ABOUT

2019 presidential election is NOT at all about APC, PDP or any political party for that matter. Saturday 23rd February 2019 is ALL about WHETHER or NOT Nigeria attains its economic and political independence from both domestic primitive-capitalist accumulators and their foreign collaborators in the well-oiled, organized international financial crimes corporation (OIFCC). If you DON’T KNOW THIS, then it means you have not read any of the following books/papers by these great economics’/business scholars (and in that case I sincerely pray that God Almighty and posterity forgive you if, unknowingly, you are among those who will go out on Saturday, and vote in a way that will surrender the fate and future of Nigeria unto OIFCC mafiosos come February 23rd):

1. Ha-Joon Chang’s: (i) 23 Things They Don’t Tell You About Capitalism (2010) (ii) Bad Samaritans (2007) (iii) Kicking Away the Ladder: Development Strategy in Historical Perspective (2003) (iv)Political Economy of Industrial Policy (1996)
2. Tom Burgis’s “The Looting Machine: Warlords, Oligarchs, Corporations, Smugglers, and the Theft of Africa's Wealth” (2016)
3. Frederik Obermaier’s (2017): “The Panama Papers: Breaking the Story of How the Rich and Powerful Hide Their Money”
4. Mushtaq H. Khan’s: (i) “The Capitalist Transformation” (2005) (ii) ‘State Failure in Developing Countries and Institutional Reform Strategies’
5. Austin Aneke’s ‘Technology and Corruption: The Missing and Morbid Links of Development in Africa’ (2012).
6. Alice H. Amsden’s: “Why Isn’t the Whole World Experimenting with the East Asian Model to Develop?: Review of The East Asian Miracle” (1994)

Be that as it may however, whoever your preference is on Saturday 23rd February, 2019, make sure you have written that in your life diary, so that your children (and grandchildren) will know where their father (and grandfather) had stood on in what would, doubtless, have overwhelming positive or negative impact on their lives. A stich in time, they say, saves nine. Make hay while the sun shines. Look before you leap. Forewarned is forearmed. Do not cut your nose to spite your face on February 23rd!
