Voters on Saturday stormed polling units in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, with personal effects that can make them comfortable throughout the electoral process.

Our correspondent who went round the city reported that many voters, especially the aged, went to the polling units with their chairs.

Some others went to the polling units with foods and drinks enough for members of their families.

Some generous residents also provided sachet water free to those interested.

Petty traders, especially those selling cold drinks, experienced boom in their business, as the hot weather made cold drinks a necessity for all.

Pregnant women, nursing mothers, the physically challenged and the aged were, however, given priority during voting.

Despite the scorching sun, however, most prospective voters remained resolute to cast their votes.

Those who could not bear the effect of the sun took shelter under canopies and trees while waiting for their turn.
