Thank you very much.

I'm applying via the sponsorship letter route though. But I believe the total estimate should still fall within your 203k estimate, regardless.

Thanks a lot for your time and contribution. I really appreciate it.

Make it #205,000 in case of incasity grin

Sassy92 has said it all

Follow what she said ( you won't regret it) and try and get the documents needed.

Lastly, choose universities located in North Rhine Westphalia.

Good afternoon good people. Having gone through the posts, I'm about to start preparations for next year's summer (March) semester seeing as I'm late for 2019 winter.

I'm starting the process from scratch i.e. Toefl, transcript request etc.

Can anybody please help me with an estimate of the total amount I should expect to soend throughout the application process?

I kniw toefl is 72k, transcript request is about 35k but beyond those, I have no idea of how much I might need.

I'm asking because I'd like to know what I'm getting into and how much I need to put aside.

Thanks in advance.

We are in the same shoe.... I wish we can just have a thread where we can start discussing preparations ahead of winter admission.

Cos discussing it here (now) will obviously be disrupting the Part 6 guys who are already rounding up their processes.

It's not too early to start the discussions ahead next winter.

Thanks chief, Noted.

The issue is getting universities that offer courses that accept my undergraduate discipline (Psychology) as an admission requirement.
For now, I've found two course both at the Rhine-waal Uni of applied science -although one of them has a (NC) restricted admission criteria.

But it's all good. I'll bump the figure up to about 230k for good measure. I plan to send more than one application.

I'm not too familiar with the way they organize the threads, but I think you can still make enquiries ahead since it's all geared toward the same purpose. Plus, application for winter semesters will be closing in earnest so it's not exactly too early to start asking questions ahead. Still, you're right though. We shouldn't be disruptive to the part 6 guys.

TOEFL = #72,000

Transcript request = #35,000

Uniassit charge = €75 (one time ) + €30 for every additional application.

Delivery services (UPS, FEDEX, DHL etc) - this depends on the courier company you use. Just save #30,000 for that

Legalization of documents = #2000 - #3000

Blocked account = 8640 + some charges.. Also this depends on the bank you use.. Coracle, fintiba, xpario and deutsche bank.

Visa = #30k plus

Travel health insurance = this depends on the insurance company... Mansard is around 17,000 - 23,000 (I don't know the exact amount)

Total amount is #203,000 excluding uniassit charge and blocked account money

Vielen Dank!

true ,
we are in the same boat, just staying patient till another thread for the next application round is created , meanwhile digesting all the info here. I'm sure as soon as the winter application deadline has passed a new one will be created, it was mentioned some pages back.
for now I'll start with gathering my docs.

are you saying bavaria is not a good choice for students? just asking
Hadampson:
NRW, the best German State for students! Low cost of living, a lot of unskilled jobs, friendly people. These are the things any prospective student should put into consideration before choosing a school. You cannot compare the cost of living in Duisburg, Essen, Dortmund, Düsseldorf etc. with some cities in Bavaria. My little advice!

Greetings everyone, please I have a question especially directed to our gurus in DE, much appreciations to you all.

So, I'll be arriving DE in a few days time by God's grace, but I'm coming on a short stay internship program. I already applied to schools and I'm awaiting AL, and I'm wondering if an AL drops while I'm in DE already, will I have to leave and then reapply for student Visa? Or can I just kind of change or elongate my status? Also will I need the blocked account for 1 year, I have one for the duration of my stay already. A lot of questions are in my head, please help.
Thanks again.
