Dear friends, I did not expect that my post about strange movements in BTCUSD market, would be so popular. Thanks a lot for all your comments and the amazing discussion! If you missed it, I put the link to the post in the related ideas, in order you could catch the whole story.

I decided to write a new post for making everything clear. I want to explain my position, why I think that Sunday's movement was manipulated, and support it by arguments. As the previous post confused the part of the community I think the new one will help to understand my position a little bit better.

First of all, let's start from the term - what is manipulation in markets?

Wiki tells us - Market manipulation is a type of market abuse where there is a deliberate attempt to interfere with the free and fair operation of the market and create artificial, false or misleading appearances with respect to the price of, or market for, a product, security, commodity or currency.

The other trusted source gives a better explanation:
Manipulation is the act of artificially inflating or deflating the price of a security or otherwise influencing the behavior of the market for personal gain. (Investopedia)

To tell you the truth I like more the 2nd variant.

Ok, after getting a better understanding of what is manipulation, let's look at the chart. I share with you my thoughts step by step:

1. The market moves below 4000.00 resistance level . There is no news supporting the market and such consolidation is rather logical. For breaking the resistance bulls must have reasons. The value of BTC must be increased. We don't have such conditions.

2. It's a strange breakout and upward movement in the market which is not so active - it's Saturday. The price easily breaks the resistance and reaches another resistance zone at 4200.00 level based on the previous swing highs. There is no news supporting such breakout and the upward movement.

3. The market reverses as there is no power for breaking 4200.00 resistance level and starts downward movement. Everything looks logical.

4. WHAT'S THIS Why the market drops so fast and so deep Someone closed long positions It's the 2nd strange movement!

5. After the 2nd strange movement, the market keeps moving as it should be - low volatility , there is no news pushing the price up or down. The market moves in range.

If we combine these 2 strange movements, we will get a pattern which looks like a manipulated movement! The market had no reasons to break the 4000.00 level at least during the weekend, and it dropped so fast as if a great number of traders closed long positions at the same time.

Mainly you can get such big movements during high volatility periods and when the market is pushed by the news. In such conditions, a great number of traders do the same things. I remind you, on Sunday we did not have big news which could push people to close long positions. The reversal had been developing for about 5 hours. The huge bearish candle could be done by a big player who decided to exit from long positions.

And now it's a very important thing - if we combine 2 strange movements into one planed trade, we will get the perfect example of manipulation. This pattern will be as close as possible to the patterns, which you could see in shitcoins. They were formed when scammers pumped&dumped markets.

The nature of this movement is the same. The market is pumped without any fundamental support. People start joining to the movement and at some level - resistance is the perfect place for this - pumpers fix profit. They do it step by step in order to have opportunity to exit from long positions and make profit = get benefits. Is it manipulation? I think YES. If it's manipulation, why the same pattern in BTCUSD market it is something different?

I made a poll in Telegram and my Twitter. The question was: "Do you think that crypto is a manipulated market?"
The vote's results:
YES - about 90%
NO - about 10%

If you think that crypto is a manipulated market and Sunday's strange movements were not manipulated - please, provide me better examples.

I want to finish this post by the following statements:
- Crypto is a Manipulated Market
- Manipulation in the financial makets is not legal
- Manipulators in crypto - they are scammers!

Be careful when you trade in crypto markets. Short term movements can be manipulated by big players and it makes trading much more unpredictable. From my point of view, it's better to trade crypto based on higher timeframes as it's a more complicated task to pump/dump crypto in long run. And when you trade in the long run, a combination of TA and FA allows you to trade more safely and be above strange movements.

As far I'm concerned you have not said anything new...we already know that cryptocurrency values are manipulated!

My friend u made a nice analysis of the market but it is still on track. The fact that there was a quick bull and another quick bear does not mean its manipulated, this is crypto its way different from forex. There was no major news to sustain the bull so it has to come down to were it was and start a steady movement the way it should be.It was on $4000 and moved to $4,200 without any significant reasons and withing a short time it has to come back to were it was cause the sustaining factor isn't there...My friend believe me crypto is already on the bull it will keep moving steadily until it gets or find a significant reason to shoot.
