Supposed be role models to the emerging generation, beautiful actress, Ini Edo-Ehiagwina and handsome actor, Mike Ezuruonye were said to have abandoned a movie set for a Globacom Show in Lagos. The two Nollywood stars, who are Brand Ambassadors to the telecoms giant, by that act, have collectively displayed a high sense of indiscipline for allegedly left the movie location early yesterday morning Thursday 26th August 2010 in Asaba, Delta State area of Nigeria without informing the director or the producer, www.nigeriafilms.com gathered from reliable sources.

Ever since some Nollywood stars were made Glo Ambassadors, the movie industry that made them, we were informed, has continued to suffer serious neglects arising from the actors’ penchant for wealth. There have been reports on many occasions that these actors would betray the trust reposed in them by just abandoning movie set without the consent of their producers or directors. This, www.nigeriafilms.com gathered, amounts to breach of contract the Business Administration, punishable by law of the land.

Commenting on the actors’ behaviour, one of the people at the location said, “the movie sector must let them understand that the industry made them and not the other way round.”, while a co-actress who also plays a significant role in the movie anonymously informed us that ,“I don’t blame them; the producers should start putting them where they rightly belong, by making them less important than they are seeing themselves. They should be humbled, if that would put a stop to this rubbish,” she stated.

While all this was going on, a call was put to Ini Edo to state her side of the story; although, she picked the call but on hearing it was this reporter, she swiftly dropped the receiver. This reporter rang again and she picked and said, “Yes?”, then this reporter told her that she should respond to a text that would be forwarded to her.

The message sent around 1:48pm reads ‘Information just reaching us now is that you and Mike Ezuruonye left a movie location for a Glo Show in Lagos without the knowledge of the producer/director. What’s your reaction to this? But Ini Edo never responded to the text before we posted this report online.

“I am surprised that they are being given more preference in terms of logistics and treatment than every other person. They have all made money, now they can act funny and these are the people who were begging producers to use them when they all started out. I think the producers too should give the industry a facelift by totally neglecting these so-called stars in the industry and concentrate more on up and coming ones,” one of the rising actresses who iwa part of the movie stressed.

Also., one of the strong men behind the production of the movie stated that this was one of the reasons he frowned at the plans to stop the collaboration with their Ghana counterparts. “Our stars have grown wings, I think they should be abandoned instead of them abandoning the movie, let’s now see if any communication outfit will invite them for any endorsement if they are no longer relevant in the industry. All the Glo Ambassadors, except Ramsey Nouah, on many occasions, have all displayed this sense of disrespect to the industry by abandoning a job for which they have fully been paid. This is the time to begin to put things in the right way and carry along only the few that have value for the industry. Nollywood has transformed a lot of them from nothing to something. Enough is enough”.

Meanwhile, Mike Ezuruonye told this reporter when he called late yesterday night that “nothing like that ever happened”, (hissed and switched off the phone.)

All effort of the executive producer of the movie, P.J. Movies to contact them on phone was said to have met a stumbling block and he was left with no option than to postpone the shooting till another time.
