Election: Twitter Users Reveal Discrepancies in INEC’s Nasarawa State Figures

One of the top trending topics on Twitter Nigeria currently is the hashtag, #INECNumbersDontAddUp.

Some Nigerians on the social media platform are using this hashtag to tweet about some discrepancies noticed in the presidential elections result figures announced so far by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Their grievances is especially with the figures from Nasarawa state where it was noted that the total number of votes from the state recorded for the two major parties (All Progressives Congress and Peoples Democratic Party) is more than the number of valid votes recorded by INEC.

Poll Results Update: Buhari Wins 10 States, Atiku Wins 8

The announcement of last Saturday’s presidential results continued today at the National Collation Centre, Abuja.

So far, the results from 18 states have been announced.

Of the 18 states, President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress won in 10 states, namely: Ekiti, Osun, Kwara, Nasarawa, Kogi, Gombe, Yobe, Niger, Jigawa, and Kaduna states.

Senator Oluremi Tinubu Commends Lagos Central Senatorial Zone for Victory

Senator Oluremi Tinubu has commended the people of Lagos Central senatorial district for electing her to represent the district in the National Assembly for the next four years.

Mrs. Tinubu gave this commendation in a statement made available to News Men on Monday, February 26, 2019, in Lagos.

Reiterating her promise, Oluremi said she is ready and willing to put in the work necessary to get Lagos Central and Nigeria moving forward.

Election Results: UN, AU, ECOWAS Call On Political Parties to Exercise Restraint

The United Nations, African Union and ECOWAS have called on political parties to exercise restraint as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announce the results of the Presidential and National Assembly elections.

The union made this call through an official statement issued by the ECOWAS Commission and made available to News Men on Tuesday, February 26, 2019.

According to the statement, the commission urged candidates to continue to exercise patience for the complete results.

Poll: Jimi Agbaje Speaks On Presidential and National Assembly Election

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for Lagos State, Jimi Agbaje, has called on security agencies and relevant authorities to ensure perpetrators of violence in last Saturday’s election are punished.

Agbaje made this call during a press briefing in Lagos on Monday, February 25, 2019.

Speaking with newsmen, Agbaje noted that the mayhem was a deliberate attempt by the ruling All Progressives party to deprive members of the PDP to exercise their civic rights.
