For those of us who supported Buhari/APC before the 2015 election, we followed when we were constantly told that one of the plans of the in coming government would be to restructure. No sooner that they got power, they told us that it was not part of their plan. Before then all we heard was that the Yorubas were marginalized, the northerners were narginalized, everywhere was marginalization and the only solution would be restructuring. Suddenly restructuring was no longer in the plan!

A careful look at the political leaders of this country reveals very selfish, greedy, foolish and totally visionless people.

Oil blocks are largely held by the northern elite. The cities where oil is sourced live in hardship, poverty and suffering. They will never let go.

I do not think that restructuring means separation. It simply is staying as one country but using what you have to develop your own region while you contribute a particular part of it for further growth through the center.

How can certain highly undeveloped parts of this country step out of suffering with the selfishness of the political class? For how long will we continue to suffer in the midst of plenty? Everyday we are told that resources are not enough to take care of the country's needs. Why is it so? The logical reason is that resources are brought to the center and a few people decide what and what to do.

Atiku vigorously campaigned with restructuring as his slogan. I believed him absolutely and it would have been possible with him as a president. The opportunity has gone. Marginalization continues; poverty, illiteracy and backwardness in the north continues; too much grammar with nothing to show for it in the south continues, the elite who hold oil blocks continue enjoying their wealth. Our "intergrity" president continues as a hostage to those who know more than him.

When will the salvation of this country come?
