A 1999 honda accord came into chi spare parts with a bad crankshaft pulley that would pull itself out of the engine at least every 100 kilometres. On closer inspection it was discovered the pulley was worn and had to be replaced.

Next step would be to install the belts. This car uses a conventional V belt system which requires some components removed to get the belt off. Newer cars use a serpentine belt and have a belt adjuster on the engine that automatically tensions the belt. To install the belts on this car, you only need to get the alternator and power steering pump a bit loose so you can slide the belt over.

To get the alternator loose, you loosen the 10mm bolt beneath it all the way (do not remove) then slack the 14mm bolt on top of the alternator. The first belt passes through the alternator, compressor and the crankshaft pulley.
