don't get her a Caucasian or boerbel ooh I don't think she can handle training and controlling those dogs at her age. get her a gsd they are easier for first timers, they obey better. the others you called might be too much for her to handle, they are usually huge and stubborn so for your mum's safety just go with something easier. if you can find time to exercise the gsd regularly then there shouldn't be an issue. a pure bred pittbull isn't a good guard dog, and before you buy any one, ask to see the parents. although at that price range I doubt you'll get a pure bred dog but you'll surely get a good quality dog if you check well.

But most of the gsd dogs in Nigeria are toned down with mixed blood lines.even I see the parents,how will I know the parents are pure breeds. The dogs all look the same to me. Asides gsd which other one will you recommend .thanks

Is this for security or just to keep her company....if it's the former...then get a big dog ...ur 65k should get u a not too pure breed caucasian or rott or u could get lucky someone is willing to give away a pure breed caucasian or rott for cheap price .but remember big dog and their big shiit, and loud noise.

.if its the latter just to keep her company, get her a toy breed like Lhasa, u can never go wrong with a Lhasa and u will still get change....out of the 65k a sure banker pure breed....I have someone in ogunstate Abeokuta who has a puppy just incase...

you can get a good gsd from a trustworthy kennel just don't buy from random dog owners.
if you buy from a kennel you can check the dog's parents and if possible post the pics here so we can at least tell to an extent if it's a good stock, although you can't just judge a dog's purity based on looks alone.
you also need to check the dog's temperament, don't just pick randomly, get a puppy that has already started showing signs of alertness.
for now I think gsd is the safest way to go for a security dog, just make sure you exercise and socialise the dog properly for her so she won't end up with a nervous, destructive dog.
other guard breeds you mentioned are too much for her to handle as a first time dog owner, they are either too big, stubborn or aggressive. get her a gsd that has a moderate amount of all those qualities. goodluck

Talking about a guard dog for your mom, a rot, and Caucasian ain't cool cos they aren't as guard up as a Gsd and at same time intelligent as a GSD. So I advise u go for a GSD cos it will serve the absolute purpose you actually want it for. Don't be Deceived or coerced into buying a Caucasian or Rot cos they are way less tamable and very hard to obey directive compared to your GSD.

you said is true to an extent but gsd's aren't necessarily better guard dogs than Caucasian or rott it actually depends on what you're guarding or what you want the dog to do.
a gsd will raise alarm and tackle the intruder to the ground and wait for it's master to call it off but a rott or Caucasian will attack the intruder and try to kill the person or animal while ignoring the master's commands. that's why Caucasians are used to guard livestock, farms and prisons so they can attack and kill intruders and wild animals that try to steal from the flock when the master isn't there.
the owner of the dog can return to the farm at the end of the day and see the bodies of wild animals his Caucasians killed.
gsd's are used to guard houses, and official places mostly in the city where the police can easily be reached or sometimes they even work with the police too. they will obey your commands and apprehend the suspect for you to give the final judgement.
it depends on what you want, if you want a dog that will work with you during an invasion get a gsd,if you want a dog that will attack to kill intruders get a Caucasian or a rott.
