A group , “I stand with Buhari ”, has allayed the fears that President Muhammadu Buhari may victimise the Igbo for not endorsing his reelection .

The South -East Geopolitical zone voted overwhelmingly for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar , the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in last Saturday ’s poll.

Speaking at a press conference in Awka , the Anambra State capital on Friday, the leader of the group, Dr Chekwubechukwu Ijeoma said the fear was unfounded.

While describing Buhari ’ s reelection as a “ Victory for the masses against the elite , Ijeoma assured the Igbo that the president would carry everybody along .

He said the declaration of Buhari as the winner of the poll triggered jubilation across the country, meaning that he is loved by all.

He noted that there was an improvement in the support for Buhari in Anambra State and the South - East in general in the 2019 poll against the votes the president garnered in the 2015 general election in the geopolitical zone.

He said , “In 1999 , the military gave us democracy ; in 2007, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo chose leadership for Nigerians; in 2011, it was business as usual ; in 2015 , the change came and in 2019, the masses chose the president for Nigeria .

“ Mr President like any other person may have his faults , but he is the best for Nigeria and Nigerians.
“He will improve on what he has done for the country in his second term . He will carry everybody along . He remains the president who belongs to everybody and belongs to nobody. ”

The igbos really don’t care!! Victimization or not, we’ll still thrive, come rain, come Buhari! In fact victimization gives us even more impetus to survive.

I hope he Fulfill the promise.
Which promise? Promise not to victimize you? Pls you people should stop patronizing the superior tribe! He can only victimize the lazy hordes of almajiri in the north by not taking concrete steps to put them in good schools and not Islamic studies centres.
