I have seen three topics on this Afimuyomi guy today. The guy must be really causing serious damages and nightmares to APC Lagos state to warrant all these. Something is going on.

Lies.. these allegations are all lies.Senator Tokunbo Afikuyomi is and still remains a staunch member of APC both at the state and national level. Chalartans in the top hierarchy of the state Exco are only bent on tarnishing the poor man’s image because he simply expressed his concerns on the shoddy way Gov. Ambode was treated prior to the primaries that saw the emergence of Sanwo-Olu.
Whether the state exco likes it or not, Afikuyomi had also remain a very close confidant of Tinubu prior to him becoming a governor in ‘99.. he played a very pivotal and instrumental role in the then AD gubernatorial primaries which saw Tinubu emerging as the party’s candidate against all opposition from the Dawodu led exco that had endorsed Funsho Williams before the latter defected to PDP in the later years.
Take it or leave it, Senator Afikuyomi is one of the few who can sit down with Tinubu one on one and tell him the truth on any political issue, this is a man who sacrificed a lot for Tinubu during the NADECO days was the one that helped him escape from Abacha into the UK, he also played a very pivotal role during the Chicago Certificate saga when the late Gani Fawehinmi was bent on dragging Tinubu, it was he; Afikuyomi that took the bullet for Tinubu.
I’ve observed the political space for these few days, as these are orchestrated efforts to malign the personality of this great statesman and icon.

It’s all lies.. I know for a fact how this man and Tinubu’s closeness was and still is. Igbokwe and his masters are bent on creating a wedge between Tinubu and Afikuyomi.

If other ethnic groups in this country have focused and intelligient leadership such as the Yoruba's have in Bola Tinubu in this country, this country would have gone far. I hope the Yoruba's recognise that this h.ate for Bola Tinubu is only borne out of envy and the knowledge that we have leadership that looks out for our collective interest.



I just hope the Igbos will not allow this O to ge they are shouting to consume them in this town. If APC lose this election, the Ibos will be the greatest casualities......their businesses will be frustrated and Jimi Agbaje will not be able to help them one bit.

He has always being a snitch and over ambitious. He was the youngest Senator in 1999 at 37years. He has no political structure in Lagos state just to feel as if he is that great. The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) says Sen. Tokunbo Afikuyomi is not a member of the party in the state, but a member of the Accord Party.The party said the clarification was necessary for a view of Afikuyomi’s clandestine activities to undermine the APC in Lagos.
It claimed that his activities were targetted at promoting opposition politicians in the process leading to the governorship election.
In a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Mr Joe Igbokwe, the party said it was aware of Afikuyomi’s activities and his pretension of being an APC member.
“While we believe it is within the rights of Afikuyomi to work for any interest that suits his fancy, we feel obliged to warn faithful and loyal APC members that Afikuyomi is not one of us, contrary to the impression he gives to unsuspecting party members.“While we don’t begrudge Afikuyomi his rights to choose and work for any platform or candidate of his choice, we warn him to desist from claiming to be a member of our great party and proudly own up to the interest of whomever he is working for.
“We know Afikuyomi as a member of the Accord Party and the Lagos State exco of APC does not know him as one of us, as we are aware he has left our party for Accord Party.
“We, therefore, alert members of our party and anyone dealing with Afikuyomi to clearly know that he is not a member of the APC,” the statement read in part.
The Lagos APC saluted Lagosians for their ‘impregnable fidelity’ to the party.
It urged them to ‘look for impostors and fifth columnists who have promised their masters that they will assist their doomed campaigns and interests by sowing confusion in APC’.
“This disclaimer on Afikuyomi is an effort to dispel such damned efforts.
“We urge Lagosians to stick firmly with an APC that has served them so well in Lagos and which had gotten a pan-Nigerian renewal of mandate to give the country continued good, honest and fruitful governance for the next four years,’ the party stated.
Calls to Afikuyomi’s phone to get his reaction were unanswered.

Afikutomi did the same thing in the 2007 only to return to Tínubu a day to election.
