For those advocating electronic voting, the only problem I see with it is DDOS. I don't know what the solution to that could be. DDOS is the same as ballot box snatching, where people won't be able to cast their votes. |

Working with INEC as ad hoc you will think you got free money! But some people actually died doing the ad hoc work. So the pay now looks small considering the risks. God abeg oooo. |

I am in support of the opinion with thousands of Nigerians that *EFFECTIVE* from January 2019, a Senator should be earning the Salary of a Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministry per month. People have been sending this round to Nigerians. I am supporting the opinion of the majority of Nigerians, that is why I am also forwarding this to you. Please forward this to others until we are heard. Concerned Nigerians 1 Like |

[quote author=ijustdey post=76264603]by Chinedu Asadu The Independent National Electoral Commisslon (INEC) says members of its staff were abducted and raped during Saturday’s elections. In a statement on Friday, Festus Okoye, INEC commissioner for information and voter education, said while the elections were generally peaceful, there was “high level of violence” in a few places in addition to “the subjugation of some of our electoral officials to threats, harassment, intimidation, assault, abduction and even rape.” “The Commission condoles with the families of its ad-hoc staff who lost their lives while on this national assignment, as well as other Nigerians who died in the course of the elections,” he said. “It also expresses its deep regrets and sympathy for all victims of this mindless violence. Some of the security agencies in this elections where sold out bidding their masters task. The truth of the winner of the election will unfold some day. |

babyfaceafrica: At least there will be no ballot snatching, massive thumb printing, shooting and beating of voters, E voting cannot be easily rigged except with the help of top INEC officials themselves and even at that a very good forensic and digital footprint search can prove if the system has been compromised. No system is perfect but E voting will prevent loss of lives and waste of billions in printing materials and will also help with collation and save time... we won't have to wait almost one week before we W know who worn... E voting is very simple to deploy.. for instance imagine if we could vote with ATMs used currently by banks. Currently all banks in Nigeria operate a closed n secure system. so for a hacker to hack a banks network, he has to physically enter the bank and gain access to its firewall. No bank will willingly allow that. However I have it on good authority that INEC has E voting facilities already, they are just waiting for a bill to back it up for it to be used. |

Some of these ad-hoc staffs were NYSC members. It shall not be well with poverty. May their soul rest in perfect peace. You will not die for nothing. Nigeria will be great and be counted among the comity of nations. Amen. ijustdey: |

unikwa: DDOS can be easily be mitigated against by ensuring that industry grade firewalls and secure servers are used. Also a team of cybersecurity experts should be on standby. The voting machine takes care of authentication and accreditation but it can also be done manually as backup if necessary. And also its not like these servers can be accessed from a website. The hacker has to go to the location physically making it easier for him to get caught. Except he is working with inec officials.. thats why I would prefer bank servers cos they are more secure and No bank will allow just anyone access no matter how much they want to bribe them with. |

babyfaceafrica: At least lives will not be lost unnecessarily, ballots will not be snatched as well...We don't have to fear the unknown. BVN voting electronically is the way to go and not this PVC scam that won't allow you to vote in a particular region. It will also eradicate the underage almajiris that vote in the north. For once, we will have an accurate data of legitimate voters which can be verified by just anyone. |

"While the elections were generally peaceful, there was “high level of violence” The last time checked my dictionary, peaceful means: 1. free from disturbance; tranquil. 2. not involving war or violence. So I don't know where INEC got this "peaceful" that include violence. INEC continue deceiving yourself. Haha How I wish na the INEC chairman daughter that was raped, we for see how he would say that the election was peaceful. 1 Like |
