Hello experts in the house,

A friend got promoted at her place of work and she was told her salary will remain the same because they have to run another appraisal(after 6months) that will be done base on her new job role and then she can negotiate for salary increase,

On the other she stated to her manager she wasn't cool with the arrangement and her manager said she could send a mail and ask for an increase but she suggest she waited till july where she can have a better bargaining power because she believed she can perform beautifully well.

My own is she performed well with her previous job that was why she was motivated with a promotion, however it should come with a raise and if she still exceed expectation after six months of stepping into a new role she should also be appreciated.

What advice would you give to her, should she go ahead and send a mail for an increase or chill until the next 6 months. HELP
