Ojekoyo In A Foreign Land (continued) by AmeLonRo(m): 9:12am On Mar 06, 2019
The US visitors made everything very easy and fast. They proceeded to one of the agricultural cities in the US. This was the University city that had fishing experts, scientists and researchers. It was during winter when the city and rivers were cold and sometimes freezing. Ojekoyo ate four hundred hamburgers and was still asking for more. At another time he ate two hundred and fifty large pizzas. This was his eating pattern in the US.

His hosts were eager for him to demonstrate his fish catching formula in their waters but for the winter cold. His farting noise or sound continued but the smell or odour has changed to perfume scent that filled four kilometres radius of wherever he was at the time of the flatulence. This was another pleasant surprise for him, his parents and the king of his town. People from far and wide were happy with him and enjoyed the perfume smell of his flatulence. People in America traced the scent to where he was and took pictures with the nice smelling man from another continent. Perfume producing companies sent their scent inhalation experts to inhale the scent of his fart in other to produce something that smells nice like it. The good smell became something that was spoken about on television and radio in the city. People travel to enjoy the sweet smell. His father and Chief Jayjay asked the white men why the sudden change in Ojekoyo’s farting smell. They were told it’s because he stopped eating fermented food when he reached the US. In his native town he takes a lot of fermented food items which makes his farting to smell very bad. His parents and Chief Jayjay were pleasantly surprised and wondered the kind of person he was.

During their wait for the winter to be over so they can do the fishing business in summer, Ojekoyo could not drink from the river. He however took large volumes of water bought from Walmart. He preferred this style of living to the way he lived in his town back home. He attended the elementary school in the city and the teachers and pupils loved him. He loved them too. He enjoyed his schooling and learnt fast due to the materials provided and the didactic teaching methods used. Ojekoyo, his parents and Chief Jayjay from Agbetedo were too elated to see the United States and its people. They were amazed at the way everyone minded his or her own business and was always forward looking, busy or playing some games. They appreciated the timing of the buses and trains and the politeness of the people. They also loved the way vehicles stopped at the red light on the road and move when the light is green. The way the people keep the laws of the land made the king to want to see more of the city so he can introduce modern changes in Agbetedo when he gets back.

The time everyone had been expecting finally came. Winter was ended and its now summer time in America. The city river is ready for Ojekoyo. Scientists are ready to see how Ojekoyo will attract the fishes. It was a time of exhilarating expectations. On the d- day, Ojekoyo ate a full sack of sweet potatoes with half sack of meat. The sweet potatoes were oven made by their host. The host was awake all night, making the potatoes and boiling the meat. After making the mountain of sweet potatoes and meat to become a plain, level ground Ojekoyo proceeded with the others to the river. As soon as he entered the river the fishes started jumping towards him. The white scientists where observing with keen interests. The cameraman was busy filming and recording the event while one invited photographer was at work taking shots too. Ojekoyo took his bath and drank about fifty litres of the river water. The reduced volume of water he drank can be alluded to the water he had taken before coming to the river. His lifestyle had been affected by his new environment. The moment a whole sack was filled Ojekoyo jumped out of the river. One of the scientists jumped in to see if he could attract the fishes too. The fishes moved away from sight as fast as they could. The scientists from the University jumped into the river one after the other in an attempt to attract the fishes like Ojekoyo did but they could not.

The entourage to the river went back to their abode. Ojekoyo, Chief Jayjay and his parents were elated and went to have some restful evening. The scientists however could not sleep. They went to the laboratory to watch the film recorded and see the photographs taken. The scientists brainstormed for seven days. After seven days, the scientists tried to eat the quantity of food that Ojekoyo ate but they could not go beyond twenty percent. Thereafter, the scientists proceeded to the river and tried to attract the fishes as Ojekoyo did previously. They were unable to attract the fishes. They arranged for Ojekoyo to repeat the feat again and he did. The scientists finally said they suspected that Ojekoyo had some fish attracting features in his body which they called “genes”, “plasmids” and “enzymes” at the meantime. The scientists further said that the fish attraction in Ojekoyo was similar to that in earthworms. So the fishes got attracted the way earthworms are used to bait fishes and then Ojekoyo simple picked the fishes. To confirm their deductions, the scientists took Ojekoyo’s blood and urine samples for experimentations in their laboratories. The results proved that the scent and secretion similar to that in earthworms was present in Ojekoyo. The results only indicated similarity but did not specify that it was exactly the same.

The scientists indicated that they have to do further work and findings on Ojekoyo in order to ascertain what exactly it was that attracted the fishes to him. They informed the parents that the study will take about seven years and Ojekoyo had to be with them in the US. The parents did not object to Ojekoyo staying behind in the US for six years but only gave conditions that must be fulfilled for Ojekoyo to stay in the US for the scientists to do their work. The condition was that they will be paid monthly stipend to support them in their town and that they will be allowed to come and visit their son as many times as they desired. The scientists did not object to the requests but added that they will provide the return ticket that the parents will need during their visits. Chief Jayjay was pleased as well as Ojekoyo and his parents. Ojekoyo’s parents and Chief Jayjay bade farewell to Ojekoyo and the white men. They arrived Agbetedo town with pleasant gifts from the US with joy and good tales to tell. Chief Jayjay, the king called an emergency meeting on his arrival and informed all in the town that they must not underestimate anyone. The king informed all his subjects that they all have something beneficial that they can contribute to the world no matter what others may say to them. He referred to Ojekoyo as a classical example. The king also spoke to them about the importance of courtesy, orderliness, cleanliness, education, hard work and industry which he saw in the US city he visited.

The town of Agbetedo was filled with joy as Ojekoyo has now given them access to the US. Ojekoyo continued his education in the US and advanced to assist the scientists with their research on his special attributes. He goes fishing twice a week with his friends and continues to eat big while also farting good perfume scents depending on the food he ate.
