An accountant has been exposed for stealing £250,000 from a football club he worked with and spending it on a call girl/webcam model he became obsessed with.

37-year-old Andrew Barnbrook, who was working as an account assistant for AFC Fylde football club in the UK stole the money from the club's account and paid for X-rated online performances from escort Victoria Sinclair, 24 who charges £400-an-hour for sex.

According to the Sun UK, he was charged £3.99-a-minute with a 10 minute minimum allowance for the webcam sessions. He reportedly lavished her with expensive gifts and even enjoyed personal visits from her.

Neil White, prosecuting, told Blackpool magistrates’ court: “He was in a position of responsibility involving access to the club’s accounts.

“He transferred £250,000 into his own accounts partly to fund online gambling but the bulk of it to pay for the service of a webcam model with whom he had long interchanges and he also met her face-to-face personal visits which he also paid for.

“He would buy her presents and if there was something she wanted, she got it.”

Barnbrook, of Bispham, Lancs, stole the money over a 16-month period.

He admitted fraud and will be sentenced at Preston crown court in April.

AFC Fylde chairman David Haythornthwaite said after the hearing: “It is a very sad situation in many ways

“I have built a business up from one employee in 1998 to over 300 worldwide today.

“Along the way you trust people to do certain things and follow certain processes.

“This case exposed the flaws in our systems that allowed Mr Barnbrook to take so much money without being challenged.

“It was a big wake up call for us and unfortunately there were some internal casualties as a result of his actions.

“The sad thing is that the only person who benefited from all of this is a call girl in Manchester and someone we have absolutely no legal right to recover the money from.”
