The gubernatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Engr. Seyi Makinde was reported to be in Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH Ogbomoso yesterday March 06, 2019 where he was able to state his manifestos to the general populace of the institution at large.

It was reported that the students of the great citadel came out to hear from the aspiring governor ahead of the gubernatorial election which will be held on Saturday March 9, 2019. The students and the Student Union Government Body of the institution showed their love and support for Engineer Seyi Makinde.

In lieu of this, the School management has reacted to this by releasing a notification to the students and staffs of the institution hereby banning of Political Activity/Rally On Campus.

The Management wrote;

This is to inform all members of staff and students that no political rally or activity is allowed on the University campus.

Any staff member or student found to be involved in political activity on campus will be sanctioned accordingly.

Also, it has been brought to our notice that some Student Union Executives was suspended by the Student Union Government Legislative Arms (Senate) for endorsing and declaring their support for the Gubernatorial Candidate during his visit on campus while addressing the students.

The suspended executives are;

The President – ABIODUN OLUWASEUN (LAUREL)

The PRO – ADEYEMI EMMANUEL (PARROT)

The General Secretary – Comrade. JUWON

Meanwhile, GistKit Media had earlier reported that an open letter to all Ladokites which was written by Issa Farouq surfaced online and has been circulating across the University premises.

The SUG President, Abiodun Laurel has been suspended for 200 working days while the PRO, Parrot and the General Secretary, Comrade JUWON was suspended for 150 working days.
