Former Governor of Ogun State, Gbenga Daniel, has declared support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Dapo Abiodun ahead of the March 9 governorship and state Houses of Assembly elections.

He made the statement on Thursday at the Remo Resource Centre.

Daniel, a chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), said his decision and call on his supporters to vote for Abiodun on Saturday, followed Ladi Adebutu’s loss at the court on Wednesday.

Adebutu popularly known as Lado lost his bid for the PDP ticket to Buruji Kashamu.

In Daniel’s statement
“My Dear compatriots, You have noticed my studied silence in our local politics in recent times.

“I have busied myself with National politics having served the state for 8 years.

“I have also been very busy supporting the ambition of the son of our great Philantropist in Remoland to become the next governor of our dear state.

“You, however, would have become aware of the court decision yesterday which did not favour him.

“Going forward, I have directed all our structures statewide to cast all their votes on Saturday for Prince Dapo Abiodun, another bona fide Remo son despite current party differences.

“I, therefore, enjoin all to please go and cast your vote on Saturday for Dapo Abiodun in the overall interest of our people. With best regards.”

Ogun State gubernatorial confusion. The enemy of my friend is my enemy. The friend of my enemy is my enemy. Nothing to do with party politics any more. Pure chaos at the moment.

Daniel as of last week was an Atiku man. Many want him to be picked as vice president, today he is an APC supporter.

What happened to the ADC candidate in person of Isiaka very calm and articulated. The squabble for Ogun government house will be tough for all candidates. It's not gonna be an easy ride for the eventual winner.

The greatest beneficiary of PDP division in Ogun state will be Prince Dapo Abiodun

Akinlade is not supported even by the powers in Yewa-land.

The deputy Governorship candidate in APC will bring in more votes for APC than Akinlade will bring for APM in Yewa.

The central will be shared and if there is no violence, APC will take more from central than APM will.

Overall, it will be a comfortable win for APC this Saturday in Ogun state

OGD abandoning GNI?!!! Well that's politics, self-preservation is the ultimate. Blood is thicker than water.

The way amosun n his puppet in the apm will be beaten come Saturday ehn, akinlade go turn political orphans sharpaly like saraki now in kwara.

Funny enough politicians no get shame, they r like prostitutes, all the apm supporters n akinlade himself will all move back into the apc after their imminent defeat, calling it a family affair.

Na permanent interest laslas, no permanent friend or foe!
