Yes, i do. That is actually the true art of praying. The proper way. Very ancient knowledge. The churches will never teach their flocks this true art of praying because it is just too empowering and it has a threatening potential of excluding them from the lives of the flocks, which the clergy fears terribly.

Mind prayer is unscriptural, there is no biblical ground for such idea.

Matthew 7:7-8
7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

Thinking prayer, is more or less a lazy man's excuse. For real prayer life.

Sometimes, to really know the value of such praying technique, one has to free oneself of the shackles of religious doctrines and their extremely narrow spiritual confines. Stepping out of this tiny doctrinal box is a very key issue here if one is to grow spiritually and truly know how to affect reality(in a positive manner).

Here is a Gregg Braden videoclip in which he talks about the different forms of prayers before going deep into the, "5th mode of prayer", called the "feeling based prayer" or what is called here by the OP as the "mind praying".

Mind prayer is unscriptural. But there is room for meditation. Which renews your mind, but it's not a prayer. Your Greg Braden guy is not a Christian

This is what i mean by "the shackles of religious dogma". It needs to be smashed to smithereens before one can really explore the universe and all that it has hidden for us.

Atleast your very dogmatic mind recognizes the importance of meditation. That is a good place to start your spiritual revival.

He does not have to be, either. Praying is an act that is definitely not solely practised by christians. It is an act that is way way beyond the dogmatic confines of the Abrahamic religions like christianity. Most cultures far older than christianity pray in their own way, and that is the core message of the videoclip.

People pray silently outside a dedicated prayer time all the time. On the bus, on the Tube, On Okada, . . . .  the last minute prayer before you ask your boss for that salary increment! People commune God all the time without speaking out Loud! Mute people pray too, don't they?

That said, I understand Jo's point about it being a lazy form of praying. If you are one who gets up in the middle of the night and does two miles walking about and praying in your lounge/bedroom every night for an hour, when you start praying in bed, under the covers in your mind for only 10 mins, something is seriously wrong! A weakened prayer life is one of the enemy's strategies to get to you!

On a lighter note, attempting a 'Mountain of Fire and Miracles' prayer style on the tube at 8am on monday morning will very likely get you thrown off the tube, arrested, or seriously considered for sectioning!

Mind prayers, ‘…THROUGH FAITH IN HIM WE MAY APPROACH GOD WITH… CONFIDENCE.’ EPHESIANS 3:12 NIV
Did you know that you can pray in your mind without having to speak a word out loud? All of us know the power of unspoken communication. Many of us grew up with parents who didn’t have to say a thing to make their will known. It may have been the way they cocked their heads, a certain look in their eyes or some other signal; but whatever it was, we knew exactly what was being communicated and how we were expected to respond. Our goal in prayer should be to maintain such a close relationship with God that we can communicate back and forth no matter what the situation, the time of day, or anything else. And we don’t have to shout, or use the right words in the right order, because our hearts are in tune with God’s heart. It’s like the story of the little boy who wanted a bicycle for Christmas. He was praying one night at the top of his voice, telling God the kind and colour of bike he wanted. His mother said, ‘Son, you don’t need to shout for God to hear you.’ He replied, ‘I know, mummy, but I need to shout if grandpa’s going to hear me and buy me that bike!’ The truth is, we don’t need to shout for God to hear us – and we don’t and we don’t need to try and make our own answers to prayer happen either. Jesus said our Heavenly Father knows what we need before we ask. He gives to us because of our relationship with Him, not just because we say it at a decibel level loud enough to be heard!
