Nigeria’s anti-graft agency Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Saturday arrested an agent of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State with millions of naira.

The anti-graft agency said the suspect was arrested in Makurdi, the state’s capital.

The suspect claimed he is an agent of APC governorship candidate in Benue State, Emmanuel Jimeh.

“At the North Bank Area, Makurdi, a man was caught with large bags containing lots of money. While trying to arrest him, officers of the Commission were attacked and vehicles vandalised,” EFCC said


“Information gathered confirms that the money belongs to Emmanuel Jimeh, the gubernatorial candidate of the APC in Benue state.”

Meanwhile, the agency also arrested a man for sharing money at a polling unit in Kwara state.

According to a post on EFCC official Twitter handle, Abdulkareem Abdulsalem was arrested for sharing money to voters at Polling Unit 007, Kwara State College of Education in Ilorin.
