The 2019 National Assembly and State elections in Nigeria have seen family members of 'godfathers' on the ballots running for different elective positions. 'Godfathers' are political sponsors who use money and influence to win support for their preferred candidates. This election has seen some big winners and losers of candidates of some of Nigeria's 'godfathers'. Senator Remi Tinubu - Asiwaju Bola Tinubu's wife who won her 3rd term re-election Jide Obanikoro - Senator Musiliu Obanikoro's son won his election to the House of Reps. Moyo Ogunlewe - Ex-Minister Seye Ogunlewe's son running for Lagos Assembly election Olumide Osoba - Ex-Ogun Gov. Segun Osoba's son won his re-election to the House of Reps. Mascot Orji Kalu - Senator-elect Orji Kalu's brother Obinna Chidoka - Ex-Minister Osita Chidoka's brother Ndudi Elumelu - Billionaire Tony Elumelu's brother Uche Nwosu - Gov.
