Two Electoral Officers Arrested In Imo Collation Centre.

The RO/EO for ohaji/egbema local government area in IMO state, Were arrested at the INEC collation office in owerri for electoral malpractice in favour of AA. Rochas son in-law party.

The electoral officers were accused of tampering with results

The Returning Officer, Christian Ogbuagbu, in Imo State handed over the two collation officers to security agents over the manipulation of results in Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area.

The collation officer, Ehirim Kelechi, confirmed to the RO that after issuing duplicates of the results to party agents, he altered the original copy, injecting more than 1,000 votes to the results.

This was discovered after the results he read out at the collation centre was disputed by party agents and the RO compared the results.

The officials were handed over to Security Operatives and results announcement were suspended.

This is coming after the state party agent to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Uche Onyegucha, raised an objection that the results should not be announced due the level electoral malpractices in certain areas in favour of AA, which later resulted to a fight.
