If you don't have a good title for your book, then let a professional such as your editor draft the best title that will sell your book.

Now back to suspense titles.

There are some book titles that would be so creative and full of suspense that when you behold such books, something in you will be telling you that you must not drop that book until you read it to know what's inside the book.

You will crave to know more about what happened in the book. You will be wondering what the book is all about. You will even vow not to drop the book until you read it and know what's inside.

If people can pick up your book for the first time and be captivated, intrigued and eager to know more, then you have done a great job as a an author.
Re: How To Make 1 Million Naira Monthly In Nigerian Politics by BookEditor(m): 10:39am On Mar 19, 2019
What this means is that the title of your book will sell the book if you have a very good title which makes people think twice about your book and won't want to pass by without buying the book.
Re: How To Make 1 Million Naira Monthly In Nigerian Politics by BookEditor(m): 2:15pm On Mar 19, 2019
Still on the suspense title.

Sometimes the words you use in creating or crafting such title can be very controversial. This creates a suspense that arouses some form of curiosity in the reader. Then he'll want to know more. Then he'll grab the book and buy.

To effectively use suspense titles, it's better to ensure that the story in the book also has a lot of suspense too.
Re: How To Make 1 Million Naira Monthly In Nigerian Politics by BookEditor(m): 8:27pm On Mar 19, 2019
As for when to use them: From experience, virtually any book can have a suspense title. But it's mostly applicable to novels. It's effective deployment in your book will go a long way to create an air of anxiety in the reader thereby leading to more sales of your book.

Now for descriptive titles, they simply describe certain things about the book. This type of titles are not commonly used for fiction/novels.

I'll talk more about titles later.
Re: How To Make 1 Million Naira Monthly In Nigerian Politics by BookEditor(m): 2:37pm On Mar 20, 2019
Now my best recommendations for your book title.

As I said before, the shorter your title, the better. The fewer the words in your book title, the better.

People can't remember long titles. Long titles find it hard to stick in the mind of the people. But short titles will easily stick in the mind of the people.

Therefore, ensure that your title is between 1-3 words. This is my best recommendation.

This is the best set people will easily remember. Anything above 3 words is not so easy to remember.

I'm not saying books with longer titles won't do well, but as an author try your best to have 1, 2 or 3 word title maximum for your book.

Imagine how everybody remembers a book with one word as the title. Imagine how you will remember even if you didn't eventually buy the book initially. Later you will think about the book and then go and look for it and buy. The power in one word title is so great that even if your book has a longer title, you can recraft your title to one word or let a professional do it for you.

So there's no book whose title cannot be recrafted. No matter how long the title is, it can be recrafted to make it shorter.

So after title, what next?

Your content must be in line with national or international standards to get to any of these markets.

We'll keep discussing these issues.

More to come.
