It turns out that picking your nose and having a taste of it is needed for your immune system. This was revealed after a doctor, Dr Lemon writes in his recently published book An Elegant Defense: The Extraordinary New Science of the Immune System.

He notes that when a person does this, it exposes the body to the germs that can help boost the immune system. Asides this, Dr Lemon, a dermatologist has recommended that people should pick their food from the floor when it drops. For the same reason. He says that as the immune system becomes more sensitive to germs, this is necessary.

“Our immune system needs a job…We evolved over millions of years to have our immune systems under constant assault. Now they don’t have anything to do,”
