The above link is a press statement by MURIC Director Professor Ishaq Akintola, This statement is not only inciting but also smarks of irresponsibility. One wonders how these religious bigots reason. In a country with very high religious sentiments one would wonder why Professor Ishaq Akintola would be very concerned about happening in far away New Zealand while beside him Zamfara, Plateau and Kaduna, people are killed daily.

The atrocity in New Zealand has no semblance of any religious connotation as the assailant did not base his action on any faith or religious belief. This is something a supposed professor should know,except he is being mischievous, which obviously this press statement meant. The New Zealand murderer did not claim to have done so in support of any religious group,rather his claim was in his hate on immigrants. Immigrants to New Zealand, Australia, Europe,Americas and Canada is not peculiar to any particular religion. One wonders where MURIC based their assertion that the murderer was defending Christianity.

In Nigeria, it is a known fact that the volatile muslims in the North can be aroused into an orgy of killing as happened during the Salman Rushdie saga. In the light of above, I urge the FG to immediately arrest Professor Ishaq Akintola and prosecuten him for inciting religious disturbance in Nigeria.

Is it not CAN that is always quick to defend killings in Kaduma against Muslims by calling them reprisal attacks (even when there is no initial attack) or denying it's occurrence? That was how they shamelessly denied the killings of Fulani men in Kajuru even when people around the area have aknowledged it.

I was disappointed with MURIC when I read that statement because, clearly, they were just being petty and mischievous.
