A father in south-west China has come up with a creative way to stop his daughter from getting distracted while doing her homework.

The man decided to train their pet dog to ‘supervise’ the schoolgirl while she writes her homework at their home in Guiyang, Guizhou province as she wouldn’t stop looking at her phone.

A video footage showed the cream-coloured pooch standing on its hind legs, hovering strictly over the schoolgirl as she completes her assignments on a coffee table, according to Mirror UK.

The man, surnamed Xu, told video news site, Pear, that his daughter would always procrastinate and that she struggled to focus when doing her homework.

The dog joined the family when he was only a puppy and grew up with the girl, he said.

“It’s very well-behaved,” he said. “I have been training it since it was young and now it does whatever I tell it to do.”

“I pointed at the coffee table and told it to watch my daughter as she does her homework. It would then guard her and make sure she doesn’t reach for her phone,” he added.
