The former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has indirectly referred to Rochas as a ritualists while responding to the criticism of the Yoruba people as traitors by other tribes in Nigeria.


The controversial politician made the statement on his tweet handler following the resignation of Gbega Daniel from PDP, that has generated a lot of criticism and name calling.

Gbega Daniel who was the first campaign DG to Atiku Abubakar before the PDP presidential primary resigned his membership from PDP over the week and was set to join APC. Supporters of Atiku and PDP, most especial from the South East of Nigeria saw the move as betrayal from the Yoruba’s.


“To say the Yoruba are traitors because of OGD is absurd. At best it is uncharitable and at worse it is asinine. It is like saying the Igbo are ritualists because of Rochas or that the core northerners are mass murderers because of Shekau: it is an insolent and childish assertion.”

Gbega Daniel is former governor of Ogun State.
