The restaurant is most likely funded by the Chinese Triads and it happens all over the world,its not about color but u definitely need some recommendation from an insider before u are allowed in, same thing would have happened to a Caucasian,its more than just a restaurant it's a complex business organization and yes they are at liberty to restrict access to their private establishment for reasons best known to them.

The PUNCH reporter visited the restaurant to find out the claims made by some Nigerians on social media.

The restaurant is located on 21B, Emina Crescent, Off Toyin Street, Ikeja, Lagos.

Respondents on a social media post about the restaurant say only Chinese are allowed entry, though findings showed that Nigerians and other Blacks are allowed patronage if they are accompanied by a Chinese

When our correspondent visited the restaurant on Tuesday, he was accosted by a guard in Army combat camouflage and prevented from entering the restaurant.

“Who are you looking for?” the guard, a Nigerian, asked.

When our correspondent responded that he wanted to order a Chinese cuisine, the guard said our correspondent was not permitted to enter.

The guard also quickly escorted our correspondent out of the premises, saying he was only following instructions.


It was gathered that the restaurant operates from 11am to 4pm daily.

When The PUNCH Correspondent sought to speak with the manager of the restaurant, he was told the manager was not around.

A restaurant official, who declined to give his name, said, “The manager is not around.

“Since you’ve dropped your card, I can assure you that he will call you to respond to your questions.”

Actually, a business premise is a highly regulated place irrespective of the country. The highest you can do is to boycott the business. It might seem strange but they're within their rights and they have their reasons. At least, the security guy is a Nigerian

How can someone come to YOUR country, make use of YOUR country's resources like land, electricity and others, use YOUR country men as staff then refuse you service and choose to serve only his own nationals? That's ridiculous! Imagine going to a restaurant in the US or Canada or the UK and being told they don't serve blacks. It's not your country o, but you guys would come online to shout racism. But someone is doing it right in your country to your country-people and all you guys have to say is - "is it the only restaurant in Lagos"?

I wouldn't have an issue if, maybe, the policy was something like they don't sell alcohol to minors or they don't sell seafood or they don't allow people that are shabbily dressed in.
