Poject Cost Control Engineer required for a 6+ months extendable Oil and Gas project in Port Harcourt:
1. Provide cost control and planning advice to the internal PMT team as and when required.
2. Breakdown and allocate project budget, plan out the cost expenditure of the project and establish the baseline.
3. Responsible to control and monitor project total expenditure including verifying and checking of invoices and claims from suppliers, vendors and subcontractors to ensure all project expenditures are captured and properly recorded.
4. Review all project purchase orders in line with project plan prior to final approval
5. Prepare monthly report and variance analysis to budget/forecast.
6. Attend project review meetings and provide input for project performance management review.
7. Review project timesheet and ensure in line with project plan and work done.
8. Prepare weekly and monthly project cash flow forecast
9. Provide adhoc support to project and operations as may be required
10. Perform other task that may be allocated by project managers
Must posses:
• Possess very good project background, data analysis and technical writing ability/skills.
• Strong understanding of project accounting/long term construction contract
• Excellent appreciation of accounting processes/controls.
• Excellent in MS Excel.
Qualifications & Experience
• First degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics,Engineering or other numerate discipline.
• Relevant professional qualification will be an added advantage (e.g. ACCA, ICAN, ACA, CIMA, CPA, CFA).
• 4-5 years cost controlling or project management experience in Oil & Gas related industry.
• Project Accounting experience desirable but not compulsory.
