Its clear, wailers are simply uneducated, if after reading the news and you wail and insult buhari then you wasted your tuition and deserve a refund.

Anyways to explain to dull morons, the new minimum wages are for lower level workers only and negotiation as ended on that .

However the goverment are engaging the senior workers on how to implement the minimum wage, and negotiating pay rise for senior workers also

See this illiterate, where in the world is minimum wage only for junior workers.. you are the biggest slowpoke of them all

As a result of agitation from the unions, the President set up a tripartite committee to look at the minimum wage. It is expected that every five years a review is done.

Only a man who cares does this...

See how you are disgracing the people who wasted their hard earn money on your tuition

Anyways Wikipedia defines ; A minimum wage is the lowest remuneration that employers can legally pay their workers. Equivalently, it is the price floor below which workers may not sell their labor. History · Minimum

So Mr dunce, senior workers collect minimum wage

So Mr President Buhari, senior workers collect minimum wage

Ahhh IC , English is actually your problem.. lowest remuneration that employers can legally pay their workers, does that translate to only junior workers ?
It is the lowest amount an employer can pay his employee not the lowest amount to pay a company's junior staff.

So that this doesn't burden the government, the salaries of civil servants above maybe level 10 should be capped and only the salaries of those below should be increased. You'll be surprised that monthly salary of a minimum wage earner increases from N18k to N30k, while that of a permanent secretary goes up from N750k to N820k! N12 increase versus N70k increase. The gap keeps getting wider! And its really the increase of the higher salary earners that will cost the government a lot more money.

I also agree that government needs to take a good hard look at productivity. FG and states have waaayyyy too many staff doing next to nothing.Just go to our ministries and you'll see so many people sitting behind desks doing nothing.

Like I said English is your problem, they don't earn minimum wage but an increase in minimum wage affects both junior and senior workers % increase might be different but everyone's salary increases..

By Ur comment it means after implementation some junior workers will earn the same salary as senior workers

Why negotiate with senior civil servants again unless they want to try Baba hafasa modulated salary. For those uninformed, minimum wage is base amount for which every salary is calculated from whether messenger to director. So no need for needless negotiation. Let them implement across board using the standard format. Unless of course, they are planning to do Aregbe style.

You reek of ignorance, but I will try to help you

Civil service run two salary structure

In the Police. You have one for Rank and file, And One for officers

In University, you have Teaching And non teaching. Staffs NASU and ASUU

In the Army you have commissioned And the Non commissioned forcemen

And in the Ministry And MDA you have Senior Staff GL 6- to P's And junior Staffs GL 0-6

not only are there different salary structure but also Disciplinary And administrative structures

For example rank And file of a police are handled by NPF it self however Officers are handled by Police Service Commission

This is the concept behind Governors owing different. Civil Servants Levels different percentage of salary debt

It's a shame that a minister does not understand what "MINIMUM" means angry angry
I am beginning to question the intellectual capacity of any good English language speaker in Nigeria
cos lots of dullards hide under good communication skillsshocked shocked shocked
Minimum wage simply means the least the government could pay is 30k and that doesn't mean
senior civil servants can't earn more than the minimum wage.
If he wants to restructure salary scheme that's a different issue and should be handled as such.
Please tell the minister to come and learn how its done from me joor! grin grin grin grin

BTW junior worker in ministries and MDA is GL 1-7

It is only whenbit comes to civil servants and general workers that this nonsense can be proposed. That's if this is true in the first place.

The issue is that the FG is a disgrace and has been so for long.

The question someone asked is WHO ARE THE SENIOR CIVIL SERVANT. and WHAT EXACTLY DOES A SENIOR CIVIL SERVANT EARN TO WRRANT NEGOTITIONS OF THEIR SALARY VIS A VIS THE INCREMENT?

The difference between what a level 10 officer in Nnpc, DPR, nimasa, CBN etc and those in ministry of edu, health, labour, national planning etc is wide apart.

If a level 10 officer in nimasa earns say 300k and same in min of edu earns 70k and the minimum wage is applied the one in edu starts earning about about 100k while the nimasa one starts earning 450k. Both are level 10 officers nd are deemed senior civil servants. Will theybalso negotiate with the one now earning about 100 to because we no its the 450k one they are supposed to target.

Minimum wage is supposed to be applied across board.

The main issue is the nonsense that some govt agencies are revenue generating agencies and so must earn much which is one of the reasons why mid of education and health especially are abandoned because they service oriented nd are supposed to be the bedrock of any society.

If I were president, there would be only one salary scale for every govt worker regardless of if your agency generates money or not but must adhere to minimum standard of renumeration. Eg every level 10 officer CBN or nimasa, edu, DPR, health or labour etc would earn the same thing.

Minimum wage affects junior staffs only olodo rabata, that's why senior worker are negotiating theirs with FG.

ASUU negotiation doesnt concern NASU,

So you see why FG negiotiation with senior staff shouldnt cause wailing, except from morrrons

Lmao I m sure u have seen your errors u just don't want to accept it.. if a level 7 officer earns 27k before the implementation and a level 8 officer earns 31k .. by your comment after implantation a level 7 officer will definitely earn more than the level 8 ..
the negotiations has to do with inflation and government ability to pay .. if GL 1-7 is increased by 80% GL 8-13 would increase by 50% and so on.

Your argument is flawed,in 2010 during Goodluck Jonathan's regime minimum wage was reviewed upwards and both junior and senior civil servants salary was affected. As in there was noticeable increase in salaries of both junior and senior public servants.

This present review is no way different. What the government is attempting to do is negotiating the increase for senior civil servants in a manner that will ensure the increased percentage decreases with progression along the senior cadre.

This is a bid to reduce the wage bill and close the wage gap between junior and senior cadre.
