New York-born Nigerian, Folarin Balogun is threatening Alex Iwobi’s for his first team shirt after the international break.

The 17-year-old has represented England after being born in New York to Nigerian parents.

Balogun recently signed his professional contract with Arsenal and has been in great form for the London side this season.



He has scored an amazing 22 goals in 23 appearances for the Gunners’ academy team this season.

And Aubameyang, Arsenal’s record signing, singled out Balogun for praise on social media.


In reply to Arsenal’s tweet about Balogun’s red hot form, Auba posted saying the teenager was on fire lately.

But despite having played for England in last year’s European Under-17s championship, Balogun is undecided on where his international future lies.

Meanwhile, Iwobi is struggling for goals despite being backed by Manager Unai Emery and Arsenal are in the hunt for a proven wide man.
