THE FRUITS OF THE SPIRIT A HEAVENLY DIET
The Holy Spirit gives two important abilities which are needed in the Church and in a Christian’s life. That’s the fruit of the Spirit and the Gift of the Spirit. The fruit of the spirit is needed to make heaven, but the gifts of the spirit are needed to encourage believers and to the building of the Church. The gift of the spirit makes you popular on earth, and the fruit of the spirit makes you holy.
Why the Church lust after the gift, they pay little attention to the fruit of the spirit whence the church in turn looks worldly than the world itself. The gift of the spirit is temporal because it ends here on earth and the fruit of the spirit is permanent because it continues in heaven.
The fruit of the spirit which are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control (Gala 5:22-23) can’t fail you. They’re needed here on earth in other to make heaven and leave under the colony of our Lord Jesus here and also needed in heaven.
How can we make sure that these fruit of the spirit is alive in our lives? First we must know that the fruit of the spirit can be developed, it helps us sanitize our environment and we must depend on the Holy Spirit to help us. I remember one of my friend who once told me that he can leave a righteous life if he so make up his mind. I told him is not possible, he later lost his faith. If you can do it on your own is not fruit the Holy Spirit. One of my best pray is “HELP ME JESUS”, and I pray this prayer every day and anytime I believe I’m leaving below the standard of faith.
Fruits can be developed: we must monitor our daily life and be quick to examine our activities, confess anytime we failed and call Jesus to help us never repeat the mistakes again. A lot of people shut themselves of the fruit of the Holy Spirit by limiting the abilities of the Holy Spirit to transform them totally with these words, “we are all human and we can’t be righteous”, most Christians use these words when we are struggling with a particular sin, we believed we have prayed and fasted and we are still hopelessly in it. But that is a wrong sentence for any through Church of God. The bible says he that is born of the spirit is spirit and he that is born of the flesh is flesh. In other words every born again is born of the spirit and needs to work in the spirit in other not to fulfill the work of the flesh. So we detach ourselves from the law of the spirit when we say we are humans. We are more than humans we are the children of God. Is not in our nature to sin, is not in our nature to be wicked and is not in our nature to be helpless as long as we remain children of God.
Sanitize your environment: when I got born again the first thing I did was to get rid of all the music that doesn’t agree with the word of God and all the movies that have pornographic contents in them. Cut out friends that their lives are contrary to the new life I want. Like I said before as a child of God sin is not in your nature any more. Before we became children of God sin was in our nature and not the product of the outside force, but immediately we repented sin died and is no more part of our nature, sin became an outside force, the new nature we have are the fruits of the spirit as mentioned above, we must do all we can to shut down the outside force and let the new nature grow.
Now sin is a product of an outside force and you must do everything to cut out things that make sin in your life easy and starts developing things that makes you stand mature as a child of God. The word of God is the food you need daily. When you obediently eat it, you will grow in faith and the fruits of the spirit will become easy to manifest in your life, when you believe this you will do all you should to kill the sin which war against your spirit and not accept sin as part of your nature. You should never surrendered to sin, no matter how long it had being in your life.
I degree and declare that you will grow in the spirit and everything that makes you spiritually starved be destroyed in Jesus name Amen.
