Special Ones! Emmanuel Amunike joins exclusive group with Stephen Keshi

Emmanuel Amunike has joined a very small, exclusive group of Nigerian Coaches, who help qualify other African national teams to the Continent’s biggest football fiesta; the Africa Cup of Nations.

Amunike guided the Taifa Stars to second place in Group L, following a 3-0 bashing of already qualified Uganda to reach this Summer’s AFCON, after a 37-year wait.

The former African footballer of the Year’s feat comes 9 years after Stephen Keshi qualified and led Mali to the 2010 AFCON in Angola.

Meanwhile, Keshi remains the only Nigerian Coach to lead two different African teams to the AFCON, having done it prior with Togo in 2006.

@SeunOreks Emmanuel Amunike leading Tanzania to their first AFCON in 39yrs is undoubtedly the biggest news concerning Nigeria football so far in 2019. Remarkable achievement.

@Kenechukwu_F They say “You will never know what you want until you lose it” The story under this Emmanuel Amunike thread is a true replica of this saying.

@omaakatugbaTanzania qualifying for the AFCON will make me happy because of Emmanuel Amunike who is their coach.

@chimiesaint Congrats to Tanzania and Emmanuel Amunike on this massive achievement. An advice for Emmanuel Amunike, pls don’t be in a hurry to pick up a job with the NFF. Build your brand and make a name for yourself abroad, at the right time the NFF will beg you to work with them.

@benigbakpa Stephen Keshi led Togo to their first-ever World Cup tournament but left before the tournament. Emmanuel Amunike has done something remarkable for Tanzania. I hope he stays and do well at the tournament. God not go let us work for another person to chop.

‏ @IAMBANJIWILSON Congratulations to Emmanuel Amunike for leading Tanzania to Afcon after 39 yrs and for those of you doubting whether they will perform at the competition remember that nobody believe Greece will conquer Europe in 2004..underrating them at your own peril..
