Francisca Ordega Scores On Debut In China.

Francisca Ordega scored the only goal as her new club, Shanghai defeated Shandong 1-0 in the Chinese FA Cup competition.

Ordega recently moved to China, ending a 4 year stint at Washington Spirit in the US National Women's Soccer League. She was very popular in the US and she had a lot of fans (called Franny lovers).

Ordega has now played on 5 continents around the world. She played for Bayelsa Queens and Rivers Angels in Nigeria (Africa), Rossiyanka in Russia and Pittea in Sweden (Europe) and Washington Spirit in North America. While she was at Washington Spirit she went on loan to Sydney FC (Australia) and Atletico Madrid (Europe). And now she is at Shanghai in China (Asia).

Ordega joins a long list of some of the best African women players who play in China. The African women's player of the year, Thembi Kgatlana also recently moved to China along with her compatriot Linda Motlhalo. They both moved to Beijing from Houston Dash in the US and they both scored at the weekend.

Super Falcons captain, Onome Ebi was also on the score sheet in China last weekend. She has been nicknamed the "attacking defender" because she has scored a lot of goals in the past few months. She scored for Henan in the Chinese Cup on Saturday.

Malawian legend, Tabitha Chawinga, who has consistently been one of the best African players in the past 3 years, was also on the scorer's sheet at the weekend. She was the highest goal scorer in Sweden in 2017 and she narrowly beat Asisat Oshoala to become the highest goal scorer in the Chinese league in 2018.

In 2017 Dalian FC signed two African players of the year, Asisat Oshoala and Gaelle Enganamouit. Unfortunately Enganamouit was plagued with injuries and ended up returning to Europe, while Oshoala is currently on loan at Barcelona.

I don't know whether to commend or condemn her. but first thing congrats on a good debut but while her compatriot plays for Barcelona, she's in China. it is a setback to Nigeria Female football because, she been one of the top gun of the team needs a bigger and better atmosphere to develop her footballing skills. the money is good sha. but internationally bar African competitions our female team aren't doing too good. imagine been trashed by France after winning AWCON. well France female is arguably one of the best but we need to start bridging all these gaps in order for us to move together as and be a stronger team
